Senior Architect, Cloud Infrastructure (Remote)

Our client is seeking a highly experienced Senior Architect to design and implement scalable, resilient, and secure cloud infrastructure solutions. This is a fully remote, strategic role where you will be responsible for defining the technical vision and roadmap for our cloud environments, ensuring they meet the evolving needs of the business. You will leverage your deep expertise in cloud platforms (AWS, Azure, GCP) to architect robust and cost-effective solutions.

The ideal candidate will have a proven track record in designing complex cloud architectures, implementing Infrastructure as Code (IaC) practices, and establishing best practices for cloud governance, security, and operations. You will collaborate closely with development, operations, and security teams to ensure seamless integration and efficient deployment of applications. Your responsibilities will include evaluating new cloud technologies, optimizing existing infrastructure for performance and cost, and providing technical leadership and mentorship.

Key Responsibilities:

• Design and architect scalable, secure, and highly available cloud infrastructure solutions on platforms such as AWS, Azure, and/or GCP.
• Develop and implement Infrastructure as Code (IaC) strategies using tools like Terraform, CloudFormation, or ARM templates.
• Define and enforce cloud governance policies, security standards, and compliance requirements.
• Lead the migration of existing on-premises workloads to the cloud.
• Optimize cloud environments for performance, cost-efficiency, and reliability.
• Evaluate and recommend new cloud technologies and services.
• Provide technical leadership and mentorship to cloud engineers and operations teams.
• Collaborate with application development teams to ensure cloud-native best practices are followed.
• Develop and maintain comprehensive documentation for cloud architecture and procedures.
• Troubleshoot and resolve complex infrastructure issues.

Qualifications:

• Bachelor's or Master's degree in Computer Science, Engineering, or a related field.
• Minimum of 10 years of experience in IT infrastructure, with at least 7 years focused on cloud architecture and design.
• Extensive hands-on experience with major cloud providers (AWS, Azure, GCP).
• Deep understanding of networking, security, storage, and compute services in a cloud context.
• Proficiency in Infrastructure as Code (IaC) tools (Terraform, Ansible, etc.).
• Experience with containerization technologies (Docker, Kubernetes).
• Strong knowledge of CI/CD pipelines and DevOps principles.
• Excellent analytical, problem-solving, and strategic thinking skills.
• Exceptional communication, presentation, and interpersonal abilities.
• Relevant cloud certifications (e.g., AWS Certified Solutions Architect Professional, Azure Solutions Architect Expert) are highly desirable.

This is a remote position that allows you to shape the future of our technology infrastructure. While fully remote, the strategic direction of this role is tied to our client's operations in Houston, Texas, US .
