Lead Mechanical Engineer - Remote

Our client is seeking a highly experienced and innovative Lead Mechanical Engineer to join their fully remote engineering team. This role is pivotal in driving the design, development, and implementation of complex mechanical systems for cutting-edge products and projects. - Lead the mechanical design and development of new products and systems, from conceptualization through to manufacturing.
- Oversee the creation of detailed engineering drawings, specifications, and documentation using CAD software (e.g., SolidWorks, AutoCAD, CATIA).
- Perform complex engineering analysis, including Finite Element Analysis (FEA) and Computational Fluid Dynamics (CFD), to validate designs.
- Collaborate closely with cross-functional teams, including electrical engineering, software development, product management, and manufacturing, to ensure integrated product development.
- Manage project timelines, resources, and budgets for mechanical engineering tasks, ensuring on-time and within-budget delivery.
- Develop and implement testing procedures and protocols for mechanical components and systems.
- Troubleshoot and resolve mechanical design issues encountered during development, prototyping, and production.
- Mentor and guide junior mechanical engineers, fostering a culture of technical excellence and continuous learning.
- Stay current with industry trends, emerging technologies, and best practices in mechanical engineering and product design.
- Contribute to the development of R&D strategies and the identification of new engineering opportunities.
- Ensure designs comply with relevant industry standards, safety regulations, and customer requirements.
- Prepare technical reports, presentations, and documentation for internal and external stakeholders.
- Master's or Bachelor's degree in Mechanical Engineering or a closely related field.
- 10+ years of progressive experience in mechanical design and development, with a significant portion in product development.
- Demonstrated leadership experience in managing engineering projects and teams.
- Expert proficiency in industry-standard CAD software (e.g., SolidWorks, Inventor, CATIA) and CAE tools (FEA, CFD).
- Strong understanding of materials science, thermodynamics, fluid dynamics, and kinematics.
- Experience with a variety of manufacturing processes (e.g., injection molding, machining, 3D printing).
- Excellent problem-solving, analytical, and critical-thinking skills.
- Exceptional communication, collaboration, and interpersonal skills, suitable for a remote team environment.
- Proven ability to work independently, manage priorities, and deliver results in a remote setting.
- Experience with project management methodologies.
- Familiarity with Agile development principles is a plus.
