Remote Field Service Technician - Industrial Automation

Our client is actively seeking a dedicated and highly skilled Remote Field Service Technician specializing in Industrial Automation. This is a fully remote position, allowing you to leverage your technical expertise from the comfort of your home office, while providing on-site support to clients across various regions as needed. You will be responsible for the installation, troubleshooting, maintenance, and repair of complex industrial automation systems, including PLCs, HMIs, robotics, and SCADA systems. The role demands a proactive approach to identifying and resolving technical issues to ensure minimal downtime for our clients' critical operations. Key responsibilities include remotely diagnosing equipment failures, guiding on-site personnel through troubleshooting procedures, and performing software updates and configurations. When necessary, you will travel to client sites for hands-on repairs, system integration, and preventative maintenance. This requires excellent diagnostic skills and the ability to adapt to diverse industrial environments. You will also be responsible for maintaining detailed service records, documenting all interventions, and providing technical feedback to the engineering and product development teams. Strong communication and interpersonal skills are essential for effectively interacting with clients and colleagues remotely and on-site. We require an Associate's or Bachelor's degree in Electrical Engineering, Mechatronics, Industrial Technology, or a related field. Significant hands-on experience (5+ years) with industrial automation hardware and software is mandatory. Proficiency in programming and troubleshooting various PLC brands (e.g., Siemens, Allen-Bradley), HMIs, and robotic systems is essential. Experience with network configuration and industrial communication protocols (e.g., Ethernet/IP, Profinet) is highly desirable. Excellent problem-solving abilities, a strong work ethic, and the capacity to work independently with minimal supervision are critical for this remote role.
Location: This is a fully remote position. You will be expected to travel to client sites periodically.
