Senior Cloud Security Engineer - Remote
Job Description
Our client is seeking a highly motivated and experienced Senior Cloud Security Engineer to join their fully remote team. This pivotal role is responsible for designing, implementing, and managing robust security solutions within cloud environments (AWS, Azure, GCP). You will be instrumental in protecting our digital assets, ensuring compliance, and proactively identifying and mitigating security threats. This is a remote-first opportunity, allowing you to work from anywhere within the US.

- Architect, implement, and maintain security controls and best practices for cloud infrastructure across multiple platforms (AWS, Azure, GCP).
- Develop and deploy security solutions such as WAF, IDS/IPS, SIEM, encryption, and identity and access management (IAM) systems.
- Conduct regular security assessments, vulnerability scanning, and penetration testing to identify and remediate security weaknesses.
- Respond to security incidents, conduct forensic analysis, and develop incident response plans.
- Automate security processes and workflows using scripting languages (e.g., Python, PowerShell) and Infrastructure as Code (IaC) tools (e.g., Terraform, CloudFormation).
- Collaborate with development and operations teams to integrate security into the CI/CD pipeline (DevSecOps).
- Ensure compliance with industry regulations and standards (e.g., SOC 2, ISO 27001, HIPAA, PCI DSS).
- Develop and maintain security documentation, including policies, procedures, and architectural diagrams.
- Stay current with emerging cloud security threats, technologies, and trends.
- Provide expert guidance and mentorship to junior security team members.
- Participate in security awareness training for employees.
Qualifications:
- Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Cybersecurity, or a related field, or equivalent practical experience.
- Minimum of 6 years of experience in information security, with at least 3 years focused on cloud security.
- Hands-on experience with security services in AWS, Azure, and/or GCP.
- Strong understanding of networking protocols, operating systems (Linux/Windows), and security principles.
- Proficiency in scripting languages (e.g., Python, Bash) and IaC tools.
- Experience with container security (Docker, Kubernetes) is highly desirable.
- Knowledge of SIEM tools (e.g., Splunk, ELK Stack) and incident response procedures.
- Relevant security certifications (e.g., CISSP, CCSP, AWS Certified Security - Specialty) are a significant plus.
- Excellent analytical, problem-solving, and communication skills.
- Ability to work independently and collaboratively in a remote setting.
- Must be legally authorized to work in the United States.
