Our client is looking for a highly motivated and experienced Remote Cloud Security Engineer to join their innovative team. This fully remote position is crucial for safeguarding our client's cloud infrastructure and data against evolving cyber threats. You will be instrumental in developing, implementing, and maintaining robust security measures across various cloud platforms, primarily focusing on AWS and Azure. Your responsibilities will include designing and architecting secure cloud environments, conducting vulnerability assessments, and performing penetration testing. You will also be responsible for developing and automating security controls, incident response planning, and ensuring compliance with industry regulations and best practices. This role requires a proactive approach to threat detection and prevention, utilizing cutting-edge security tools and techniques. You will work closely with development and operations teams to embed security into the CI/CD pipeline, promoting a DevSecOps culture. Collaboration with cross-functional teams to address security concerns and provide expert guidance is key. Experience with Infrastructure as Code (IaC) for security configurations is a significant advantage. Key Responsibilities:
  • Design, implement, and manage security solutions for cloud environments (AWS, Azure).
  • Develop and enforce cloud security policies, standards, and procedures.
  • Conduct regular vulnerability assessments and penetration testing.
  • Implement and manage security monitoring, logging, and alerting systems.
  • Develop and maintain incident response plans and procedures for cloud-based security events.
  • Collaborate with engineering teams to integrate security into the development lifecycle (DevSecOps).
  • Automate security tasks and configurations using Infrastructure as Code (IaC) tools.
  • Perform threat modeling and risk assessments for new cloud deployments.
  • Ensure compliance with relevant regulations and industry standards.
  • Stay current with emerging cloud security threats and best practices.
  • Provide expert security guidance and support to internal teams.
Qualifications:
  • Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Cybersecurity, or a related field, or equivalent practical experience.
  • 5+ years of experience in cloud security engineering.
  • Proven experience with security in AWS and/or Azure environments.
  • Strong understanding of network security, identity and access management (IAM), data protection, and encryption.
  • Experience with security automation and Infrastructure as Code (e.g., Terraform, CloudFormation).
  • Proficiency in scripting languages (e.g., Python, Bash).
  • Experience with security monitoring tools and SIEM solutions.
  • Excellent analytical, problem-solving, and communication skills.
  • Relevant certifications such as AWS Certified Security - Specialty, Azure Security Engineer Associate are a plus.
  • Demonstrated ability to work independently and collaboratively in a remote setting.
