Senior Cloud Security Engineer - Remote
Job Description
Our client is actively seeking a highly skilled and experienced Senior Cloud Security Engineer to join their fully remote cybersecurity team. This role is pivotal in safeguarding our cloud infrastructure and sensitive data against evolving threats. You will be responsible for designing, implementing, and maintaining robust security controls and strategies across our cloud environments, ensuring compliance and resilience.

- Develop and implement comprehensive security architectures for cloud platforms (AWS, Azure, GCP).
- Design, build, and manage security services and tooling to protect cloud resources.
- Conduct regular security assessments, vulnerability scans, and penetration tests to identify and mitigate risks.
- Implement and manage identity and access management (IAM) policies and controls.
- Develop and maintain incident response plans and playbooks for cloud security incidents.
- Monitor cloud environments for security threats and anomalies, responding rapidly to security alerts.
- Ensure compliance with industry regulations and best practices (e.g., GDPR, HIPAA, SOC 2).
- Collaborate with development and operations teams to integrate security into the CI/CD pipeline (DevSecOps).
- Automate security tasks and processes using scripting and orchestration tools.
- Stay current with emerging cloud security threats and technologies, recommending and implementing preventative measures.
- Proven experience (5+ years) in cloud security engineering or a similar cybersecurity role, with a focus on cloud environments.
- In-depth knowledge of security principles and best practices for major cloud providers (AWS, Azure, GCP).
- Hands-on experience with cloud security services (e.g., Security Groups, WAF, KMS, GuardDuty).
- Proficiency in scripting languages (e.g., Python, Bash) for automation.
- Experience with infrastructure as code (IaC) tools (e.g., Terraform, CloudFormation).
- Strong understanding of network security, cryptography, and endpoint security.
- Familiarity with container security (Docker, Kubernetes).
- Excellent problem-solving and analytical skills.
- Ability to work independently and effectively in a remote team setting.
- Relevant security certifications (e.g., CISSP, CCSP, AWS Certified Security - Specialty) are a plus.
