Remote Human Resources Generalist - Benefits Specialist

Our client, a dynamic and rapidly expanding organization, is seeking a skilled and dedicated Remote Human Resources Generalist with a specialization in Benefits Administration. This fully remote position is ideal for an HR professional passionate about employee well-being and adept at managing comprehensive benefits programs. You will be responsible for the administration, communication, and strategic planning of all employee benefits, including health insurance, retirement plans, paid time off, and wellness initiatives. The successful candidate will possess strong knowledge of benefits regulations, excellent communication skills, and a proactive approach to ensuring employees understand and maximize their benefits. You will play a key role in supporting our client's valued workforce and contributing to a positive employee experience, all while working remotely.

Responsibilities:
  • Administer and manage all employee benefits programs, including health, dental, vision, life insurance, disability, 401(k)/retirement plans, and other voluntary benefits.
  • Serve as the primary point of contact for employee inquiries regarding benefits, claims, and enrollment.
  • Facilitate open enrollment periods, ensuring accurate and timely processing of elections and changes.
  • Develop and deliver engaging communication materials to educate employees about their benefits options and company policies.
  • Process benefit enrollments, terminations, and qualifying life event changes in a timely and accurate manner.
  • Liaise with benefits vendors and brokers to resolve issues, negotiate contracts, and ensure service level agreements are met.
  • Ensure compliance with federal and state regulations, including ERISA, COBRA, FMLA, and ACA.
  • Maintain accurate employee benefits records in the HRIS system.
  • Assist with the development and implementation of new benefits programs and initiatives.
  • Conduct regular audits of benefits data to ensure accuracy and identify discrepancies.
  • Support HR team in various HR functions as needed, including onboarding, policy interpretation, and employee relations.
Qualifications:
  • Bachelor's degree in Human Resources, Business Administration, or a related field; PHR or SHRP certification is a plus.
  • Minimum of 4 years of experience in Human Resources, with at least 2 years focused specifically on benefits administration.
  • Comprehensive knowledge of various employee benefits programs, administration, and relevant regulations.
  • Proficiency with HRIS systems and benefits administration platforms.
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills, with the ability to clearly explain complex benefits information.
  • Strong organizational skills, attention to detail, and ability to manage multiple priorities in a remote setting.
  • Proactive problem-solving skills and a customer-service orientation.
  • Ability to maintain confidentiality and handle sensitive information with discretion.
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite (Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Outlook).
  • Experience working in a remote environment is highly desirable.
