Our client, a renowned international engineering consultancy, is seeking a highly experienced Lead Civil Engineer with a specialization in Geotechnical Engineering to join their exclusively remote team. This position offers the unique opportunity to work from any location in the US while contributing to impactful infrastructure projects globally. You will be responsible for leading complex geotechnical investigations, analyses, and design projects, ensuring the safety, stability, and longevity of structures. The ideal candidate is a visionary leader with extensive expertise in soil mechanics, foundation design, and ground improvement techniques.

Responsibilities:
  • Lead geotechnical investigations and site characterization for a variety of projects, including buildings, bridges, and transportation infrastructure.
  • Perform advanced geotechnical analyses, including slope stability, settlement, seismic analysis, and foundation design.
  • Develop detailed geotechnical design reports and specifications.
  • Oversee the planning and execution of field investigations, including drilling, in-situ testing, and laboratory testing programs.
  • Provide expert technical guidance and mentorship to junior geotechnical engineers.
  • Collaborate with cross-functional engineering teams (structural, transportation, environmental) to integrate geotechnical solutions.
  • Review and approve design documents and construction submittals.
  • Manage project schedules, budgets, and client relationships for geotechnical scopes of work.
  • Stay abreast of the latest advancements in geotechnical engineering research, software, and practices.
  • Ensure compliance with relevant codes, standards, and regulations.
Qualifications:
  • Master's or Ph.D. degree in Civil Engineering with a specialization in Geotechnical Engineering.
  • Professional Engineer (PE) license is required.
  • 10+ years of progressive experience in geotechnical engineering, with a significant portion in a lead or senior role.
  • Proven track record of successfully leading and delivering complex geotechnical projects.
  • Expertise in geotechnical software such as PLAXIS, GeoStudio Suite, or similar.
  • In-depth knowledge of soil mechanics, rock mechanics, foundation engineering, and ground improvement.
  • Experience with seismic analysis and design is highly desirable.
  • Excellent report writing, communication, and presentation skills.
  • Strong leadership, project management, and client management abilities.
  • Ability to work effectively independently and collaborate with a geographically dispersed team.
