Lead Civil Engineer - Remote

Our client is seeking a highly experienced and dedicated Lead Civil Engineer to spearhead critical infrastructure projects. This is a fully remote position, allowing talented engineers to contribute to impactful work from anywhere in the US. The ideal candidate will possess a deep understanding of civil engineering principles, design standards, and project management. You will be responsible for leading design teams, overseeing project execution, ensuring quality control, and managing client relationships. Your expertise in site development, transportation, or water resources will be highly valued.

Key Responsibilities:

• Lead the design and development of civil engineering projects, including site development, transportation, water/wastewater systems, and drainage.
• Prepare and review engineering plans, specifications, and cost estimates.
• Oversee project execution from concept through construction, ensuring compliance with design standards and regulations.
• Manage project teams, delegate tasks, and provide technical guidance to junior engineers.
• Conduct site investigations, feasibility studies, and impact assessments.
• Ensure adherence to all relevant codes, standards, and permitting requirements.
• Collaborate with clients, government agencies, and other stakeholders to achieve project objectives.
• Manage project schedules and budgets, ensuring timely and cost-effective delivery.
• Perform quality control checks on engineering designs and calculations.
• Stay current with the latest advancements in civil engineering technologies and best practices.
• Prepare and deliver technical reports and presentations.
• Mentor and develop engineering staff, fostering a culture of technical excellence.

Qualifications:

• Bachelor's degree in Civil Engineering from an accredited institution. Master's degree preferred.
• Professional Engineer (PE) license is required.
• Minimum of 10 years of progressive experience in civil engineering design and project management.
• Proven track record of successfully managing and delivering large-scale civil infrastructure projects.
• Proficiency in civil engineering design software (e.g., AutoCAD Civil 3D, Bentley MicroStation).
• Strong understanding of hydrology, hydraulics, soil mechanics, and structural principles.
• Excellent leadership, communication, and interpersonal skills.
• Experience in contract administration and client management.
• Ability to manage multiple projects and prioritize effectively.
• Strong analytical and problem-solving capabilities.
• Experience working in a fully remote, collaborative environment.
• Knowledge of environmental regulations and permitting processes is a plus.
