You will work closely with product development teams to integrate thermal management solutions from concept through production, addressing challenges associated with high-power density and compact designs.

Responsibilities:
  • Perform detailed thermal analysis and simulations using CFD software (e.g., ANSYS Icepak, COMSOL, FloTHERM) for electronic components and systems.
  • Develop innovative thermal management solutions, including heat sinks, fans, heat pipes, and liquid cooling systems.
  • Design and specify thermal components and materials, considering performance, cost, and manufacturability.
  • Collaborate with mechanical, electrical, and firmware engineers to integrate thermal designs into product architectures.
  • Conduct thermal testing and validation of prototypes and production units to verify simulation results and ensure performance targets are met.
  • Identify and resolve thermal issues that arise during product development and manufacturing.
  • Create detailed thermal design documentation, reports, and presentations.
  • Stay abreast of the latest advancements in thermal management technologies and best practices.
  • Contribute to the development of thermal design guidelines and standards.
  • Mentor junior engineers and provide technical leadership in the field of thermal engineering.
Qualifications:
  • Bachelor's degree in Mechanical Engineering, Aerospace Engineering, or a related field. Master's or PhD is preferred.
  • Minimum of 6 years of experience in thermal engineering, with a strong focus on electronics cooling.
  • Proficiency in using CFD software for thermal analysis and design optimization.
  • Solid understanding of heat transfer modes (conduction, convection, radiation) and fluid dynamics.
  • Experience with thermal test equipment and data acquisition systems.
  • Familiarity with electronic components and their thermal characteristics.
  • Knowledge of material properties relevant to thermal management.
  • Strong analytical and problem-solving skills with meticulous attention to detail.
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills, capable of effectively presenting technical information.
  • Proven ability to work independently and manage projects effectively in a remote environment.
  • Must be authorized to work in the US and able to work remotely from any US state.
This position, centered conceptually around our client's operations in Boise, Idaho, US , allows you to contribute your expertise remotely, shaping the thermal performance of next-generation technologies.
