Our client, a leader in advanced manufacturing, is seeking a highly skilled and motivated Senior Process Optimization Engineer to join our dedicated team. This is a fully remote position, allowing you to contribute your expertise from anywhere in the US. You will play a pivotal role in analyzing, designing, and implementing improvements to our manufacturing processes to enhance efficiency, reduce costs, and improve product quality. Your responsibilities will include conducting detailed process assessments, identifying bottlenecks and areas for improvement, and developing data-driven solutions. You will leverage your expertise in lean manufacturing principles, Six Sigma methodologies, and process simulation tools to optimize workflows and production lines. The ideal candidate will have a strong background in industrial engineering, mechanical engineering, or a related field, with a proven track record of successfully implementing process improvements in a manufacturing environment. Experience with automation, IoT integration, and advanced manufacturing technologies is highly desirable. This role requires excellent analytical skills, problem-solving abilities, and the capacity to work independently and collaboratively with cross-functional teams. You will be responsible for developing and implementing process control strategies, creating Standard Operating Procedures (SOPs), and training personnel on new processes. As a remote-first engineer, exceptional communication and organizational skills are paramount to ensure seamless project execution and knowledge transfer.

Responsibilities:
  • Analyze existing manufacturing processes to identify inefficiencies and areas for improvement.
  • Design and implement process optimization strategies using lean manufacturing and Six Sigma methodologies.
  • Develop and utilize process simulation models to test and validate proposed improvements.
  • Lead cross-functional teams in implementing process changes and driving operational excellence.
  • Establish key performance indicators (KPIs) and monitor process performance to ensure continuous improvement.
  • Develop and document Standard Operating Procedures (SOPs) for optimized processes.
  • Train manufacturing personnel on new processes and best practices.
  • Evaluate and recommend new technologies and automation solutions to enhance manufacturing capabilities.
  • Collaborate with R&D and engineering teams to integrate new product designs into efficient production processes.
  • Manage process improvement projects from conception to completion, ensuring timely and effective implementation.
Qualifications:
  • Bachelor's degree in Industrial Engineering, Mechanical Engineering, Manufacturing Engineering, or a related discipline.
  • 5+ years of experience in process engineering or manufacturing operations, with a focus on optimization.
  • Proficiency in Lean Manufacturing, Six Sigma (Green Belt or Black Belt certification preferred).
  • Experience with process simulation software (e.g., Arena, AnyLogic).
  • Strong analytical and problem-solving skills with a data-driven approach.
  • Excellent communication, collaboration, and interpersonal skills.
  • Proven ability to work independently and manage multiple projects effectively in a remote setting.
  • Experience with ERP/MES systems and statistical process control (SPC).
  • Knowledge of automation technologies and their application in manufacturing.
