Senior Industrial Process Engineer - Automation & Optimization (Remote)

Our client is a global leader in manufacturing solutions, actively seeking a Senior Industrial Process Engineer with expertise in automation and process optimization to join their fully remote team. This role is critical for driving efficiency, innovation, and continuous improvement across our client's diverse manufacturing operations worldwide. You will be responsible for analyzing complex industrial processes, identifying bottlenecks, and implementing advanced automation strategies to enhance productivity, reduce waste, and improve product quality. The ideal candidate will possess a robust understanding of Lean Manufacturing principles, Six Sigma methodologies, and modern automation technologies, with a proven ability to design and implement scalable solutions.

Responsibilities:
  • Analyze existing industrial processes to identify areas for improvement in efficiency, safety, and cost-effectiveness.
  • Design, develop, and implement automation solutions using PLCs, robotics, and SCADA systems.
  • Lead projects focused on process optimization, waste reduction, and quality enhancement using Lean and Six Sigma principles.
  • Develop and maintain process documentation, including P&IDs, standard operating procedures (SOPs), and training materials.
  • Collaborate with cross-functional teams, including engineering, operations, and supply chain, to ensure seamless integration of new processes and technologies.
  • Conduct feasibility studies and economic analyses for proposed process improvements and automation projects.
  • Stay current with emerging technologies and industry best practices in industrial engineering and automation.
  • Provide technical guidance and mentorship to junior engineers and operational staff.
  • Troubleshoot and resolve complex process-related issues.
  • Manage project timelines, budgets, and resources effectively.
Qualifications:
  • Bachelor's degree in Industrial Engineering, Mechanical Engineering, Electrical Engineering, or a related field. A Master's degree is a plus.
  • Minimum of 7 years of progressive experience in industrial engineering, with a strong focus on process automation and optimization.
  • Demonstrated expertise in PLC programming, robotic systems integration, and SCADA implementation.
  • In-depth knowledge of Lean Manufacturing, Six Sigma (Green Belt or Black Belt certification preferred), and other continuous improvement methodologies.
  • Proven experience in leading and managing complex engineering projects from conception to completion.
  • Strong analytical and problem-solving skills, with a meticulous attention to detail.
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to influence stakeholders at all levels.
  • Proficiency in simulation software (e.g., Arena, AnyLogic) and CAD software is desirable.
  • Experience working in a remote team environment and managing projects virtually.
  • Ability to travel occasionally for site visits, if required.
