Key Responsibilities:
- Spearhead the design and development of complex mechanical systems and equipment for advanced manufacturing applications, focusing on automation, robotics, and precision machinery.
- Lead the entire product lifecycle, from initial concept generation and feasibility studies through to detailed design, prototyping, testing, and production support.
- Apply advanced engineering principles, including FEA, CFD, and modal analysis, to optimize designs for performance, reliability, and manufacturability.
- Develop and maintain detailed 3D models, 2D manufacturing drawings, and Bills of Materials (BOMs) using state-of-the-art CAD software.
- Collaborate extensively with cross-functional teams, including electrical engineers, control systems specialists, software developers, and manufacturing engineers, to ensure integrated and efficient system designs.
- Define and oversee rigorous testing and validation protocols for new designs, analyzing data, and implementing design improvements based on findings.
- Drive innovation by researching and evaluating emerging technologies, materials, and manufacturing techniques.
- Mentor and guide junior engineering staff, fostering a culture of technical excellence and continuous learning.
- Author technical documentation, reports, and patent disclosures.
- Act as a subject matter expert for mechanical engineering within the organization, providing technical leadership and strategic direction.
Required Qualifications:
- Master's degree or Ph.D. in Mechanical Engineering or a closely related discipline.
- 10+ years of significant experience in mechanical design and development, with a strong focus on industrial automation, robotics, or advanced manufacturing equipment.
- Expertise in SolidWorks, CATIA, or similar advanced CAD platforms, and a deep understanding of GD&T.
- Proven track record of successfully bringing complex mechanical products from concept to market.
- Extensive experience with simulation and analysis tools (FEA, CFD).
- Demonstrated leadership capabilities and experience mentoring engineering teams.
- Exceptional analytical, problem-solving, and critical thinking abilities.
- Outstanding communication and presentation skills, with the ability to influence stakeholders.
- Self-motivated and highly organized, with the ability to thrive in an independent, remote work setting.
