Senior Cloud Infrastructure Engineer (Remote)

Our client is a forward-thinking technology company seeking a highly motivated and experienced Senior Cloud Infrastructure Engineer to join their fully remote team. This position is crucial for designing, implementing, and maintaining our robust cloud infrastructure, ensuring scalability, reliability, and security. You will play a key role in architecting cloud solutions, automating deployments, and optimizing performance across our cloud environments. The ideal candidate will have a deep understanding of cloud platforms, extensive experience with infrastructure as code, containerization technologies, and CI/CD pipelines. This is a remote-first role, offering the flexibility to work from anywhere within the US, with a strong emphasis on asynchronous communication and effective collaboration through digital tools.

Responsibilities:

• Design, build, and maintain scalable, secure, and highly available cloud infrastructure on platforms like AWS, Azure, or GCP.
• Develop and implement Infrastructure as Code (IaC) using tools such as Terraform, CloudFormation, or ARM templates.
• Automate provisioning, configuration management, and deployment processes using CI/CD pipelines (e.g., Jenkins, GitLab CI, Azure DevOps).
• Implement and manage container orchestration platforms like Kubernetes or Docker Swarm.
• Monitor system performance, identify bottlenecks, and implement solutions for optimization and cost reduction.
• Develop and maintain robust disaster recovery and business continuity plans.
• Implement and manage security best practices, including access control, network security, and vulnerability management.
• Troubleshoot and resolve complex infrastructure issues in a timely manner.
• Collaborate with development and operations teams to ensure seamless integration and deployment of applications.
• Document infrastructure configurations, processes, and procedures thoroughly.
• Stay current with emerging cloud technologies and industry best practices.

Qualifications:

• Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Engineering, or a related field, or equivalent practical experience.
• 5+ years of experience in cloud infrastructure engineering and operations.
• Proven expertise with at least one major cloud provider (AWS, Azure, GCP).
• Strong proficiency in scripting languages such as Python, Bash, or PowerShell.
• Hands-on experience with Infrastructure as Code (IaC) tools.
• Solid understanding of containerization technologies (Docker) and orchestration (Kubernetes).
• Experience with CI/CD tools and methodologies.
• Knowledge of networking concepts (TCP/IP, DNS, VPNs, Load Balancing).
• Experience with monitoring and logging tools (e.g., Prometheus, Grafana, ELK Stack).
• Excellent problem-solving and analytical skills.
• Strong communication and collaboration skills, with the ability to work effectively in a remote team environment.
• Relevant cloud certifications (e.g., AWS Certified Solutions Architect, Azure Administrator Associate) are a plus.
