Senior Remote Cloud Infrastructure Engineer

Our client is seeking a highly skilled and experienced Senior Remote Cloud Infrastructure Engineer to design, build, and maintain our scalable cloud-based infrastructure. This is a fully remote position, offering the flexibility to work from anywhere within the US. You will be at the forefront of leveraging cloud technologies to support our cutting-edge applications and services. The ideal candidate will possess deep expertise in cloud architecture, infrastructure automation, and security best practices, with a proven ability to manage complex cloud environments independently.

Your responsibilities will include architecting, deploying, and managing infrastructure on major cloud platforms (AWS, Azure, GCP), implementing robust CI/CD pipelines, and automating infrastructure provisioning and management using tools like Terraform and Ansible. You will be responsible for ensuring the high availability, performance, and security of our cloud resources. This includes setting up monitoring and alerting systems, troubleshooting complex infrastructure issues, and implementing disaster recovery strategies. Collaboration with development teams to optimize application performance and deployment processes will be a key aspect of this role.

Key responsibilities include:

• Designing, implementing, and managing scalable, highly available, and secure cloud infrastructure (AWS, Azure, GCP).
• Developing and maintaining Infrastructure as Code (IaC) using tools like Terraform, CloudFormation, or ARM templates.
• Building and managing CI/CD pipelines for automated application deployments and infrastructure updates.
• Implementing robust monitoring, logging, and alerting solutions for cloud environments.
• Troubleshooting and resolving complex infrastructure issues, ensuring minimal downtime.
• Developing and implementing disaster recovery and business continuity plans.
• Collaborating with development teams to optimize application performance and resource utilization in the cloud.
• Ensuring adherence to security best practices and compliance requirements in cloud environments.
• Automating routine infrastructure tasks and operational processes.
• Staying current with the latest cloud technologies and industry trends.

We are looking for a candidate with a Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Engineering, or a related field, or equivalent practical experience. A minimum of 7 years of experience in cloud infrastructure engineering, with at least 5 years focused on major cloud platforms, is required. Strong proficiency in scripting languages (Python, Bash) and IaC tools is essential. Experience with containerization technologies (Docker, Kubernetes) and serverless architectures is highly desirable. Excellent problem-solving skills, strong communication abilities, and a self-starter mentality are crucial for success in this fully remote role.
