Responsibilities:
- Install, commission, and service industrial automation equipment, including robotics, PLCs, and HMI systems.
- Perform routine maintenance and preventive checks to ensure optimal system performance.
- Troubleshoot and diagnose hardware and software issues, identifying root causes of failures.
- Execute repairs and replacements of faulty components efficiently and effectively.
- Provide on-site technical assistance and training to customers on system operation and maintenance.
- Respond to emergency service calls and resolve issues in a timely manner.
- Maintain detailed service reports, documenting all work performed, parts used, and customer interactions.
- Adhere to all company safety policies and procedures, ensuring a safe working environment.
- Collaborate with the engineering and sales teams to provide feedback on product performance and customer needs.
- Manage service inventory and ensure necessary tools and equipment are available.
- Develop and maintain strong customer relationships, acting as a trusted technical advisor.
- Stay current with the latest advancements in industrial automation technologies and company products.
- Effectively manage travel schedules and logistics to cover assigned service territory.
- Ensure customer satisfaction through professional conduct and efficient problem resolution.
- Contribute to continuous improvement of service processes and documentation.
Qualifications:
- Associate's or Bachelor's degree in Electrical Engineering Technology, Mechanical Engineering, Industrial Automation, or a related field.
- 3-5 years of experience in field service, maintenance, or installation of industrial automation systems.
- Strong knowledge of PLCs (e.g., Allen-Bradley, Siemens), HMIs, robotics, and variable frequency drives (VFDs).
- Proficiency in reading and interpreting electrical schematics and mechanical drawings.
- Excellent troubleshooting and diagnostic skills for both hardware and software issues.
- Familiarity with network protocols commonly used in industrial automation.
- Ability to work independently and manage time effectively in a field environment.
- Strong communication and customer service skills.
- Valid driver's license and a clean driving record.
- Willingness to travel extensively within the assigned territory and occasionally beyond.
- Ability to lift and move heavy equipment as needed.
- Relevant certifications (e.g., CFPS, CFD) are a plus.
