Job Description
Our client is looking for a highly skilled and motivated Automotive Diagnostic Technician to join their remote operations team. This is a fully remote position, allowing you to leverage your expertise from anywhere. You will be responsible for remotely diagnosing complex automotive issues for a wide range of vehicles, utilizing advanced diagnostic software, telematics data, and schematics. Your primary focus will be on interpreting diagnostic trouble codes (DTCs), analyzing sensor data, and providing clear, concise diagnostic reports to field technicians or vehicle owners. You'll collaborate with a distributed team of automotive experts, engineers, and support staff to resolve challenging vehicle problems. The ideal candidate possesses deep knowledge of automotive systems, including engine, transmission, braking, and electrical systems, as well as proficiency with various diagnostic tools and platforms. You must be able to work independently, manage your time effectively, and communicate technical information clearly and professionally. Experience with specific vehicle makes/models or advanced diagnostic platforms is a significant advantage. This role requires a strong analytical mind, excellent problem-solving skills, and a commitment to delivering accurate and efficient diagnostic solutions.

- Remotely diagnose engine, transmission, electrical, and other vehicle system issues.
- Interpret diagnostic trouble codes (DTCs) and analyze live sensor data.
- Utilize diagnostic software, scan tools, and vehicle communication interfaces.
- Generate detailed diagnostic reports with actionable repair recommendations.
- Consult vehicle schematics and repair manuals to understand system operation.
- Collaborate with remote technicians and engineers to resolve complex issues.
- Provide technical guidance and support to field service personnel.
- Maintain up-to-date knowledge of automotive technologies and diagnostic techniques.
- Contribute to the development of remote diagnostic procedures and best practices.
Qualifications:
- High school diploma or equivalent; ASE certifications (e.g., L1, L2, L3) strongly preferred.
- Minimum of 3 years of hands-on experience as an automotive technician or diagnostic specialist.
- Proven ability to diagnose complex automotive problems across various systems.
- Proficiency with professional-grade automotive diagnostic scan tools and software.
- Strong understanding of automotive electrical systems, CAN bus, and network communication.
- Experience interpreting vehicle schematics and technical service bulletins (TSBs).
- Excellent analytical and problem-solving skills.
- Strong written and verbal communication skills for remote collaboration.
- Ability to work independently and manage workload effectively in a remote setting.
- Reliable high-speed internet connection and a suitable home office setup.
