Job Description
Our client, a pioneering robotics and automation company, is seeking an exceptional Lead Mechanical Engineer to drive their advanced robotics projects entirely remotely. This is a unique opportunity to lead design, development, and innovation from anywhere in the country, with a focus on engineering excellence and team leadership. You will be responsible for conceptualizing and designing novel robotic systems and components, overseeing the mechanical design process from ideation through to prototyping and production. This includes detailed CAD modeling, performing structural and dynamic analyses, selecting appropriate materials and components, and ensuring designs are optimized for performance, reliability, and manufacturability. Key responsibilities include leading a team of mechanical engineers, mentoring junior staff, defining project technical roadmaps, collaborating closely with electrical engineers, software developers, and control system experts virtually, and establishing best practices in mechanical design and simulation. The ideal candidate will possess a Master's degree or PhD in Mechanical Engineering, with a minimum of 10 years of progressive experience in mechanical design and a strong portfolio in robotics, automation, or complex electromechanical systems. Proven leadership experience managing engineering teams and projects is essential. Expertise in advanced CAD software (e.g., SolidWorks, CATIA) and simulation tools (FEA, CFD) is required. A deep understanding of robotic mechanisms, actuators, sensors, and power transmission systems is crucial. Experience with rapid prototyping technologies and advanced manufacturing techniques is a plus. Excellent communication, collaboration, and problem-solving skills are paramount for success in this fully remote, team-oriented role.
