Logistics Coordinator - Remote Fleet Management

Our client, a rapidly growing national logistics and delivery company, is seeking a detail-oriented and proactive Logistics Coordinator to join their fully remote operations team. This position is crucial for managing and optimizing the day-to-day operations of our diverse fleet, ensuring efficient routing, timely deliveries, and excellent customer service. The ideal candidate will possess strong organizational skills, excellent communication abilities, and a solid understanding of transportation and logistics principles. Responsibilities:
  • Coordinate and schedule daily routes for a fleet of delivery vehicles, ensuring optimal efficiency and timely completion.
  • Monitor driver performance and adherence to schedules, providing support and guidance as needed.
  • Utilize logistics software and GPS tracking systems to manage fleet operations in real-time.
  • Communicate effectively with drivers, customers, and internal stakeholders regarding delivery status, potential delays, and service issues.
  • Address and resolve any logistical challenges or customer complaints promptly and professionally.
  • Maintain accurate records of shipments, delivery times, and operational data.
  • Identify opportunities for route optimization and cost reduction, implementing improvements as approved.
  • Ensure compliance with all transportation regulations and company policies.
  • Assist in managing fleet maintenance schedules and ensuring vehicles are roadworthy.
  • Generate reports on key performance indicators (KPIs) related to fleet operations and delivery performance.
Qualifications:
  • Proven experience in logistics, dispatching, transportation coordination, or a related field.
  • Familiarity with route planning software and GPS tracking systems.
  • Strong understanding of supply chain and transportation management principles.
  • Excellent organizational and time-management skills, with the ability to multitask effectively.
  • Exceptional communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to build rapport with drivers and clients.
  • Proficiency in using computer systems, including Microsoft Office Suite and logistics management software.
  • Ability to work independently, problem-solve, and make sound decisions in a fast-paced, remote environment.
  • High school diploma or equivalent required; Associate's or Bachelor's degree in Logistics, Supply Chain Management, or a related field is a plus.
  • Previous experience in fleet management is highly advantageous.
