Remote Lead Installation Technician

Job Description

Our client, a leading provider of specialized equipment, is seeking a highly skilled and experienced Remote Lead Installation Technician. This is a fully remote role, requiring the ability to travel to customer sites as needed while managing administrative tasks and remote support from a home office. The successful candidate will be responsible for overseeing complex installation projects and ensuring customer satisfaction.

Responsibilities:
  • Lead and supervise installation teams at customer sites, ensuring projects are completed safely, on time, and according to specifications.
  • Provide technical guidance and support to installation technicians, troubleshooting issues and resolving on-site challenges.
  • Develop detailed installation plans, including resource allocation, timelines, and site preparation requirements.
  • Conduct pre-installation site assessments to identify potential risks and ensure readiness.
  • Oversee the delivery and setup of equipment, ensuring proper configuration and integration.
  • Perform quality checks and final inspections to ensure installations meet company standards and customer expectations.
  • Train customers on the operation and maintenance of installed equipment.
  • Manage project documentation, including installation reports, sign-offs, and customer feedback.
  • Collaborate with project managers, sales teams, and customer support to ensure a seamless customer experience.
  • Develop and implement best practices for installation procedures and safety protocols.
  • Act as a point of escalation for complex technical issues encountered during installations.
  • Contribute to the continuous improvement of installation processes and training materials.
  • Maintain accurate inventory of tools, equipment, and parts used for installations.
  • Manage travel logistics and expenses for field teams.
  • Provide remote technical support and guidance to field technicians as needed.
Qualifications:
  • High school diploma or equivalent required; Associate's or Bachelor's degree in a technical field is a plus.
  • Minimum of 5 years of experience in installation, maintenance, or technical field service, with at least 2 years in a lead or supervisory role.
  • Proven experience leading installation projects for complex equipment or systems.
  • Strong technical aptitude and hands-on ability in mechanical, electrical, or relevant system installations.
  • Excellent problem-solving, troubleshooting, and diagnostic skills.
  • Strong leadership, communication, and interpersonal skills.
  • Ability to manage multiple projects simultaneously and work effectively under pressure.
  • Proficiency in reading technical drawings, schematics, and manuals.
  • Experience with diagnostic tools and equipment.
  • Willingness to travel extensively to customer sites as required.
  • Ability to work independently and manage time effectively in a remote setting.
  • Customer-focused attitude with a commitment to service excellence.
  • Experience with specific industry equipment (e.g., manufacturing machinery, IT infrastructure, medical devices) is a strong asset.
