Lead HVAC Installation Technician - Remote Operations

Our client is a leading provider of building comfort solutions seeking a highly skilled Lead HVAC Installation Technician to manage and oversee remote installation operations. In this fully remote role, you will leverage your extensive expertise to guide and support field technicians, ensuring the highest standards of quality and efficiency in HVAC system installations across various client sites. You will be responsible for reviewing installation plans, troubleshooting complex technical issues remotely, and providing expert guidance to installation teams via phone, video conferencing, and digital documentation. A key part of this position involves developing best practices for HVAC installations, creating training materials for new technicians, and conducting virtual performance assessments. You will collaborate closely with the operations management team to monitor project progress, identify potential bottlenecks, and implement solutions to ensure timely and successful project completion. The Lead HVAC Installation Technician will also be involved in evaluating new installation technologies and methodologies, recommending improvements to enhance service delivery. This role requires a deep understanding of various HVAC systems, including split systems, heat pumps, VRF systems, and ductwork design. The ideal candidate possesses exceptional diagnostic skills, strong leadership abilities, and excellent communication capabilities, with the ability to effectively manage and motivate a remote team. Responsibilities:

• Provide remote technical leadership and guidance to field HVAC installation technicians.
• Oversee and ensure the quality and efficiency of HVAC system installations across multiple job sites.
• Troubleshoot and resolve complex installation issues remotely, providing clear and concise instructions.
• Review installation plans, blueprints, and schematics to ensure adherence to design specifications.
• Develop and maintain best practice guides and standard operating procedures for HVAC installations.
• Create and deliver virtual training programs for new and existing installation technicians.
• Conduct remote performance evaluations and provide constructive feedback to field teams.
• Collaborate with project managers and operations leads to monitor installation progress and address challenges.
• Evaluate and recommend new tools, technologies, and installation techniques.
• Maintain detailed records of installations, issues, and resolutions.
• Ensure compliance with safety regulations and industry standards during all installation activities.

Qualifications:

• High school diploma or equivalent; Trade school or vocational training in HVAC strongly preferred.
• Minimum of 7 years of hands-on experience in HVAC installation and repair.
• Proven experience leading or supervising installation teams.
• Comprehensive knowledge of various HVAC systems, including refrigeration cycles, electrical controls, and airflow principles.
• Strong diagnostic and problem-solving skills.
• Excellent communication, interpersonal, and remote coaching abilities.
• Proficiency with digital communication tools and platforms for remote collaboration.
• Ability to interpret technical drawings and specifications.
• EPA Universal Certification required.
• NATE certification is a significant advantage.
• Self-motivated, organized, and able to manage responsibilities effectively in a remote setting.
