Our client, a premier facilities management provider, is seeking an experienced and certified Lead HVAC Technician to join their fully remote operations team. This pivotal role will focus on providing expert remote support, diagnostics, and guidance for HVAC systems across various client sites. You will leverage your extensive technical knowledge to troubleshoot complex issues, develop preventative maintenance strategies, and guide on-site technicians. - Provide expert remote technical support and diagnostics for HVAC systems, including heating, ventilation, and air conditioning units.
- Analyze incoming service requests, trouble tickets, and sensor data to identify root causes of system malfunctions.
- Develop and implement comprehensive preventative maintenance schedules and protocols to ensure system reliability and efficiency.
- Guide and mentor on-site technicians through complex repair procedures via remote communication channels (video calls, detailed instructions).
- Interpret technical manuals, schematics, and blueprints to assist in troubleshooting and repair efforts.
- Document all diagnostic findings, repair actions, and maintenance activities meticulously in the company's service management system.
- Stay updated on industry trends, new HVAC technologies, and best practices for remote diagnostics and maintenance.
- Collaborate with procurement teams to recommend necessary parts and equipment for repairs.
- Assist in training programs for new technicians on HVAC system operations and remote support procedures.
- Ensure compliance with safety regulations and environmental standards in all recommended procedures.
- Proactively identify opportunities for system optimization and energy efficiency improvements.
- Maintain a high level of customer satisfaction through effective and timely remote assistance.
- High School Diploma or GED required; Associate's degree or vocational training in HVAC or a related field preferred.
- Minimum of 7 years of hands-on experience as an HVAC technician, with a strong emphasis on complex system diagnostics and repair.
- EPA Universal Certification is mandatory.
- NATE certification is highly desirable.
- Proven ability to diagnose and troubleshoot a wide range of HVAC equipment (e.g., chillers, boilers, air handlers, rooftop units).
- Proficiency in reading and interpreting HVAC schematics, wiring diagrams, and P&IDs.
- Experience with Building Automation Systems (BAS) and direct digital controls (DDC) is essential.
- Excellent analytical and problem-solving skills.
- Exceptional communication skills, both written and verbal, with the ability to explain technical concepts clearly to non-technical personnel.
- Proficiency with remote diagnostic tools and digital communication platforms.
- Ability to work independently and manage time effectively in a remote setting.
- Strong organizational skills and attention to detail.
