Job Description
Our client is seeking a highly skilled and experienced Lead Field Service Technician specializing in HVAC systems. This is a fully remote position, allowing you to manage your service calls and administrative tasks from your home office. You will be responsible for providing advanced technical support, troubleshooting complex HVAC issues, and leading a team of technicians in the field. Your expertise will be critical in diagnosing and repairing commercial and industrial HVAC equipment, ensuring optimal performance and customer satisfaction. Key responsibilities include performing detailed inspections, preventative maintenance, and emergency repairs on a wide range of HVAC systems, including chillers, boilers, air handlers, and control systems. You will utilize advanced diagnostic tools and techniques to identify root causes of equipment failures and implement effective solutions. As a lead technician, you will mentor and guide junior technicians, sharing your knowledge and ensuring adherence to safety protocols and best practices. You will be responsible for managing service schedules, prioritizing urgent calls, and ensuring timely resolution of customer issues. This role also involves significant interaction with clients, providing clear explanations of technical problems and proposed solutions, and ensuring their operational needs are met. Documentation of all service activities, including detailed reports on repairs, maintenance, and parts used, is crucial for record-keeping and billing. You will also contribute to the development of training materials and participate in technical reviews. The ability to work independently and manage your time effectively in a remote setting is essential. You will be expected to maintain a high level of technical proficiency and stay current with emerging HVAC technologies and regulations. Travel to customer sites will be required as needed, but the day-to-day management and administrative tasks are performed remotely. The ideal candidate will possess a comprehensive understanding of HVAC principles, electrical systems, and control technologies. A minimum of 5 years of experience in field service for HVAC systems, with demonstrated leadership capabilities, is required. Relevant certifications (e.g., EPA Universal, NATE) are highly preferred. Strong diagnostic and problem-solving skills, coupled with excellent communication and customer service abilities, are essential. The capacity to work autonomously, manage a demanding schedule, and uphold the highest standards of workmanship in a remote-first environment is critical.
