Our client, a pioneer in the telecommunications industry, is seeking a highly accomplished Principal RF Design Engineer to join our innovative team in Provo, Utah, US . This is a critical role for developing and optimizing state-of-the-art radio frequency systems and components that power global communication networks. You will be responsible for the entire lifecycle of RF design, from conceptualization and simulation to prototyping, testing, and validation. The ideal candidate will possess extensive experience in RF circuit design, electromagnetic compatibility (EMC), antenna design, and RF system architecture. Your expertise will be essential in designing and analyzing high-frequency circuits, including amplifiers, mixers, oscillators, and filters, utilizing advanced simulation tools like ADS, HFSS, or similar. You will play a key role in troubleshooting and resolving complex RF issues, ensuring the performance and reliability of our products. Collaboration is vital; you will work closely with cross-functional teams including hardware engineers, software developers, and product managers to ensure seamless integration of RF components into larger systems. We are looking for a candidate who can mentor junior engineers, provide technical leadership, and contribute to the strategic direction of our RF development efforts. This hybrid position offers a balance between focused design work and collaborative team engagement. Responsibilities:
  • Lead the design and development of complex RF circuits and systems.
  • Perform RF simulations and electromagnetic analysis using industry-standard tools.
  • Design and optimize antennas for various wireless applications.
  • Develop and execute RF test plans, including RFIC and system-level testing.
  • Troubleshoot and resolve RF design issues and performance anomalies.
  • Collaborate with hardware and software teams for system integration.
  • Mentor junior RF engineers and provide technical guidance.
  • Stay current with RF technologies, trends, and industry best practices.
  • Contribute to the development of RF design methodologies and standards.
  • Ensure compliance with relevant regulatory standards (e.g., FCC, ETSI).

Qualifications:
  • Master's or Ph.D. in Electrical Engineering or a related field, with a specialization in RF/Microwave Engineering.
  • 10+ years of progressive experience in RF design and development.
  • Proven expertise in RFIC design, analog circuit design, and RF system architecture.
  • Proficiency with RF simulation software (e.g., ADS, HFSS, CST).
  • Strong understanding of electromagnetic theory, transmission lines, and S-parameters.
  • Experience with RF test equipment and measurement techniques.
  • Knowledge of wireless communication standards (e.g., 5G NR, LTE, Wi-Fi).
  • Excellent problem-solving, analytical, and leadership skills.
  • Strong communication and interpersonal abilities for effective collaboration.
  • Ability to work effectively in a hybrid work environment.
