Job Description
Hartford Healthcare seeks a compassionate RN to deliver high-quality, patient-centered care within our Healthcare & Medical Services department. In this role, you will assess, plan, implement, and evaluate nursing care for diverse patient populations while collaborating closely with physicians and an interdisciplinary team. Responsibilities include administering medications, monitoring patient status, educating patients and families, and maintaining accurate electronic health records. Provide direct patient care, including assessments, medication administration, and treatment planning
Collaborate with physicians and interdisciplinary team to develop and implement individualized care plans
Monitor, document, and report patient status, responding promptly to changes in condition
Educate patients and families on diagnoses, treatments, and discharge instructions
Maintain accurate electronic health records and ensure compliance with safety and infection-control standards
Participate in quality improvement initiatives and evidence-based practice
Precept and mentor new nurses and support staff as needed
Coordinate care transitions, including admissions, transfers, and discharges
Patient assessment and clinical decision-making
Medication administration and IV therapy
Care planning and care coordination
Electronic Health Record (EHR) documentation
Wound care and infection control practices
Cardiac and vital sign monitoring
Patient and family education
Emergency response and basic life support
Time management and task prioritization
Interdisciplinary team collaboration

Active RN license in the state of practice (or eligibility upon hire)
Basic Life Support (BLS) certification
Advanced Cardiac Life Support (ACLS) preferred or obtained within defined timeframe
Specialty certification (e.g., CCRN, CEN, Med-Surg RN-BC) preferred based on unit
Prior experience with electronic health record (EHR) systems such as Epic preferred
