Job Description

As an RN at Hartford Healthcare, you will deliver compassionate, evidence-based care within a collaborative team in our Healthcare & Medical Services department. Provide safe, evidence-based nursing care to adult and geriatric patients across inpatient and outpatient settings
Perform comprehensive patient assessments, develop and update individualized care plans, and document in the EMR
Administer medications, treatments, and therapies while monitoring for side effects and response
Collaborate closely with physicians, advanced practice providers, and interdisciplinary care teams
Educate patients and families on diagnoses, medications, discharge plans, and self-care strategies
Advocate for patient needs, ensuring dignity, safety, and adherence to quality and regulatory standards
Participate in care coordination, handoffs, and interdisciplinary rounds to optimize outcomes
Use cutting-edge medical technology and equipment safely and effectively
Precept and mentor new staff and support ongoing professional development activities
Contribute to process improvement, infection prevention, and patient experience initiatives
Patient assessment and triage

Electronic Medical Record (EMR) documentation (e.g., Epic)
Clinical diagnostic interpretation (vitals, labs, telemetry)

Active, unencumbered Registered Nurse (RN) license in the state of employment
Basic Life Support (BLS) certification required
Advanced Cardiovascular Life Support (ACLS) preferred or obtained within designated timeframe based on unit
Pediatric Advanced Life Support (PALS) or Neonatal Resuscitation Program (NRP) as applicable to patient population
Prior acute care or clinical practicum experience in med-surg, step-down, or specialty unit
Familiarity with electronic medical record (EMR) systems, preferably Epic
Demonstrated commitment to patient safety, quality improvement, and evidence-based practice
