Job Description
Orica is seeking a safety-focused CDL Class B Driver to support our Transportation & Logistics team in the Mining & Quarrying industry. In this role, you will safely transport explosives and related materials to mine and quarry sites, perform vehicle inspections, and ensure full compliance with DOT and Orica safety standards. You’ll coordinate with operations and blasting teams, maintain accurate documentation, and operate in challenging field environments. Operate CDL Class B trucks to safely transport explosives and related materials to mining and quarry sites
Perform daily pre- and post-trip inspections and complete required documentation
Ensure strict compliance with DOT, FMCSA, and Orica safety policies and procedures
Coordinate with transportation & logistics and blasting teams to meet delivery schedules
Secure and handle hazardous materials in accordance with regulatory and company standards
Maintain accurate logs, delivery records, and regulatory paperwork
Report equipment issues and assist with basic preventative maintenance
Participate in safety meetings, training, and continuous improvement initiatives
CDL Class B driving
Tanker and hazmat handling
Vehicle inspection and maintenance
DOT and FMCSA compliance
Load securement
Safe operation in quarry/mining sites
Logbook and ELD usage
Defensive driving
Radio and dispatch communication
Basic mechanical troubleshooting
