Job Description

Methodist Health System is seeking a skilled CT Technologist to join our Healthcare & Medical Services team. In this role, you will perform high‑quality CT imaging procedures, ensure patient safety, and collaborate closely with radiologists and clinical staff. Responsibilities include preparing patients, operating CT equipment, maintaining accurate documentation, and adhering to radiation safety standards. Perform CT examinations according to physician orders and established protocols to produce high-quality diagnostic images
Verify patient identification, review orders and clinical history, and select appropriate CT protocols based on patient condition
Prepare and position patients safely and comfortably for CT scans, explaining procedures and addressing questions to reduce anxiety
Administer IV contrast agents according to protocol, monitor patients for adverse reactions, and respond appropriately to emergent situations
Adhere to radiation safety principles, including ALARA, proper shielding, and appropriate technical factor selection to minimize exposure
Review images for diagnostic quality, repeat images when necessary, and transmit studies accurately to the PACS system
Collaborate with radiologists, nurses, and other healthcare professionals to clarify imaging needs and support coordinated patient care
Maintain exam rooms and CT equipment in clean, organized, and safe condition, performing basic quality checks and reporting malfunctions
Follow infection prevention and control policies, including proper hand hygiene, equipment disinfection, and use of personal protective equipment
Ensure accurate documentation of procedures, contrast use, and patient information in the electronic medical record and imaging systems
Support departmental workflow by prioritizing exams, assisting with scheduling needs, and contributing to efficient patient throughput

IV insertion and contrast administration
Recognition and management of contrast reactions
Knowledge of cross‑sectional anatomy and pathology

Basic equipment troubleshooting and quality control
Infection prevention and control practices
HIPAA and patient confidentiality compliance
Effective communication with patients and clinical staff
Time management in a fast‑paced hospital environment
Critical thinking and problem‑solving in acute situations
Basic computer literacy and EMR navigation

ARRT registration in Radiography (R) and/or Computed Tomography (CT)
Current state license as a Medical Radiologic Technologist (or equivalent, as required by state)
Basic Life Support (BLS) certification

IV contrast administration competency/credentialing per facility policy
