Lead Manufacturing Process Engineer (Remote-First)

Our client, a forward-thinking leader in the Manufacturing & Production industry, is seeking a highly skilled Lead Manufacturing Process Engineer for a fully remote position. This role is critical in optimizing and innovating production processes across multiple facilities, leveraging advanced engineering principles and digital tools. You will play a key part in enhancing efficiency, quality, and safety in our manufacturing operations, all while working collaboratively with teams from anywhere in the US. As a remote-first role, strong communication and self-management skills are paramount.

Responsibilities:
  • Design, develop, and implement optimized manufacturing processes to improve efficiency, reduce waste, and enhance product quality.
  • Analyze existing production lines to identify bottlenecks and areas for improvement using methodologies like Lean Manufacturing and Six Sigma.
  • Lead projects focused on automation, process control, and new technology integration within manufacturing environments.
  • Develop and maintain process documentation, standard operating procedures (SOPs), and work instructions.
  • Collaborate with cross-functional teams, including R&D, quality assurance, operations, and supply chain, to ensure seamless process implementation.
  • Conduct root cause analysis for production issues and implement corrective and preventative actions.
  • Stay abreast of new manufacturing technologies, materials, and methodologies to drive continuous improvement.
  • Mentor and guide junior process engineers and provide technical expertise to production staff.
  • Develop process simulation models to test changes and predict outcomes before full implementation.
  • Ensure all processes comply with safety regulations, environmental standards, and quality management systems.
Qualifications:
  • Bachelor's degree in Mechanical Engineering, Industrial Engineering, Manufacturing Engineering, or a related field.
  • Minimum of 7 years of experience in manufacturing process engineering, with a strong track record of successful process optimization.
  • Proven expertise in Lean Manufacturing, Six Sigma (Green or Black Belt preferred), and other continuous improvement methodologies.
  • Experience with process simulation software and CAD tools.
  • Strong understanding of automation, robotics, and advanced manufacturing technologies.
  • Excellent analytical, problem-solving, and project management skills.
  • Proficiency in data analysis and statistical process control (SPC).
  • Exceptional communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to collaborate effectively in a remote setting.
  • Experience leading engineering projects and mentoring junior team members.
  • Familiarity with various manufacturing equipment and production systems.
