Remote Senior Product Development Engineer

As a remote engineer, you will leverage advanced collaboration tools and methodologies to work seamlessly with cross-functional teams, including R&D, design, marketing, and manufacturing. Your responsibilities will encompass identifying market needs, conceptualizing new product features, developing detailed technical specifications, and overseeing the design and engineering of new products. You will be proficient in utilizing CAD software for design and simulation, conducting rigorous performance testing, analyzing results, and iterating designs to optimize functionality, manufacturability, and cost-effectiveness. A key focus will be on translating complex technical requirements into tangible, market-ready products. The ideal candidate will possess a strong background in mechanical engineering, materials science, or a related discipline, with a proven track record of successfully bringing new products to market. Experience with rapid prototyping technologies, DFM (Design for Manufacturability) principles, and various testing methodologies is essential. You will also contribute to intellectual property development, including patent applications. Key Responsibilities:

• Lead the development of new products from concept to market launch.
• Identify and analyze customer needs and market opportunities.
• Generate innovative product concepts and develop technical solutions.
• Create detailed product designs, specifications, and Bills of Materials (BOMs).
• Oversee prototype development, testing, and validation processes.
• Conduct Design for Manufacturability (DFM) and Design for Assembly (DFA) analyses.
• Collaborate with R&D, engineering, marketing, and manufacturing teams.
• Analyze test data and refine product designs for optimal performance and cost.
• Contribute to intellectual property strategy, including patent filings.
• Prepare technical documentation and present project updates to stakeholders.

Qualifications:

• Master's or Ph.D. in Mechanical Engineering, Electrical Engineering, Materials Science, or a related field.
• Minimum of 7 years of experience in product development and engineering, with a focus on bringing new products to market.
• Proven experience in designing and developing complex mechanical or electro-mechanical systems.
• Proficiency in CAD software (e.g., SolidWorks, CATIA) and simulation tools (e.g., ANSYS, COMSOL).
• Strong understanding of materials science, manufacturing processes, and prototyping techniques.
• Experience with DFM/DFA principles and product lifecycle management (PLM).
• Excellent problem-solving, analytical, and critical thinking skills.
• Exceptional communication and interpersonal skills for remote collaboration.
• Demonstrated ability to lead projects and work independently in a remote setting.
• Experience in the advanced manufacturing or technology sector is highly desirable.
