Senior Electrical Design Engineer (Remote)
Job Description
Our client is seeking a highly experienced and motivated Senior Electrical Design Engineer to join their globally distributed team. This is a fully remote position, offering the flexibility to work from anywhere within the US. You will be instrumental in the design, development, and testing of innovative electrical systems and components for cutting-edge products. The ideal candidate will have a strong foundation in electrical engineering principles, a proven track record in complex design projects, and the ability to work autonomously in a virtual environment. You will collaborate closely with cross-functional teams, including mechanical engineering, software development, and product management, to bring groundbreaking technologies to life.

- Lead the conceptualization, design, and implementation of complex electrical systems and circuits.
- Develop schematics, layouts, and specifications for PCBs, power supplies, and other electrical assemblies.
- Perform circuit analysis, simulations, and worst-case analysis to ensure design robustness and performance.
- Oversee the selection of electronic components, considering factors like performance, cost, and availability.
- Collaborate with firmware and software engineers to define interfaces and ensure seamless integration.
- Conduct thorough design reviews and provide constructive feedback to team members.
- Develop and execute comprehensive test plans for validating electrical designs.
- Troubleshoot and debug hardware issues, identifying root causes and implementing effective solutions.
- Maintain comprehensive design documentation, including schematics, BOMs, test reports, and user manuals.
- Stay abreast of the latest advancements in electrical engineering, components, and design methodologies.
- Mentor junior engineers and contribute to the overall technical growth of the team.
- Manage project timelines and deliverables for electrical engineering tasks.
- Bachelor's or Master's degree in Electrical Engineering or a related field.
- 10+ years of progressive experience in electrical hardware design.
- Expertise in schematic capture and PCB layout tools (e.g., Altium Designer, Cadence Allegro).
- Strong understanding of analog and digital circuit design, power electronics, and microcontrollers.
- Proficiency in simulation tools (e.g., SPICE, ANSYS) and laboratory test equipment.
- Experience with high-speed digital design, RF design, or embedded systems is a plus.
- Excellent problem-solving and analytical skills.
- Demonstrated ability to work effectively in a remote, collaborative team environment.
- Strong written and verbal communication skills for clear documentation and cross-functional interaction.
- Self-motivated with excellent time management skills to meet project deadlines independently.
