Job Description
Our client, an award-winning independent game studio, is searching for a talented and visionary Lead Sound Designer to oversee all aspects of audio production for their upcoming AAA titles. This hybrid role offers a dynamic work environment where creativity and technical expertise converge. You will be responsible for conceptualizing, creating, and implementing immersive soundscapes, sound effects, and musical scores that elevate the player experience. The ideal candidate has a deep understanding of game audio pipelines, extensive experience with industry-standard DAWs and middleware, and a passion for pushing the boundaries of interactive audio. You will lead a team of audio engineers and sound designers, ensuring the highest quality and consistency across all projects.

- Lead the audio department, guiding sound designers and audio engineers in the creation and implementation of game audio.
- Conceptualize and design immersive sound effects, ambient audio, and Foley for game environments and mechanics.
- Create and implement dynamic music systems and interactive scores that enhance gameplay and emotional impact.
- Collaborate closely with game designers, narrative designers, and programmers to integrate audio seamlessly into the game.
- Manage the audio asset pipeline, ensuring efficient organization and implementation of all sound assets.
- Record, edit, and mix audio assets to meet project specifications and quality standards.
- Work with third-party audio middleware (e.g., Wwise, FMOD) to implement and optimize audio.
- Conduct sound design reviews and provide constructive feedback to the audio team.
- Stay current with the latest advancements in game audio technology and techniques.
- Contribute to the overall artistic vision and direction of the game's audio.
- Bachelor's degree in Audio Engineering, Music Technology, or a related field, or equivalent professional experience.
- 7+ years of experience in sound design, with at least 3 years in a lead or senior role within the game industry.
- A strong portfolio showcasing exceptional game sound design across various genres.
- Proficiency in digital audio workstations (DAWs) such as Pro Tools, Reaper, Cubase, or Logic Pro.
- Extensive experience with game audio middleware like Wwise or FMOD.
- Deep understanding of acoustics, psychoacoustics, and audio signal processing.
- Experience with game engines such as Unreal Engine or Unity.
- Strong leadership, communication, and interpersonal skills.
- Ability to work collaboratively in a team environment and manage multiple projects.
- Passion for video games and interactive entertainment.
