Remote Lead Manufacturing Engineer

Our client, a highly respected name in the manufacturing sector, is seeking a dynamic and experienced Lead Manufacturing Engineer to join their fully remote, innovative team. This role is pivotal in driving efficiency, quality, and continuous improvement across all manufacturing processes. You will leverage your expertise to optimize production lines, implement new technologies, and lead a team of engineers in developing and refining manufacturing strategies. The ideal candidate possesses a deep understanding of lean manufacturing principles, process automation, and robust problem-solving methodologies, coupled with exceptional leadership qualities.

- Lead the design, development, implementation, and continuous improvement of manufacturing processes and systems.
- Analyze manufacturing operations to identify areas for efficiency gains, cost reduction, and quality enhancement.
- Develop and implement lean manufacturing initiatives, including Six Sigma projects, 5S, and value stream mapping.
- Oversee the selection, installation, and validation of new manufacturing equipment and technologies.
- Provide technical leadership and mentorship to a team of manufacturing engineers, fostering a culture of innovation and collaboration.
- Collaborate with cross-functional teams, including R&D, quality assurance, supply chain, and operations, to ensure seamless product realization.
- Develop and manage project plans for manufacturing-related initiatives, ensuring timely and within-budget completion.
- Create and maintain detailed process documentation, standard operating procedures (SOPs), and work instructions.
- Troubleshoot and resolve complex manufacturing issues, identifying root causes and implementing effective corrective actions.
- Ensure compliance with all relevant industry standards, safety regulations, and environmental policies.
- Evaluate and implement automation solutions to improve production throughput and reduce manual labor dependency.
- Monitor key performance indicators (KPIs) for manufacturing operations and report on progress to senior management.
- Stay abreast of emerging manufacturing technologies and best practices, recommending and integrating them as appropriate.
- Bachelor's degree in Manufacturing Engineering, Mechanical Engineering, Industrial Engineering, or a closely related field. A Master's degree is preferred.
- A minimum of 7-10 years of progressive experience in manufacturing engineering, with a significant portion in a leadership or supervisory role.
- Proven expertise in lean manufacturing principles, Six Sigma methodologies (Green Belt or Black Belt certification strongly preferred), and continuous improvement techniques.
- Strong experience with process design, optimization, and automation in a manufacturing environment.
- Proficiency in CAD software and simulation tools is a plus.
- Demonstrated ability to lead and mentor engineering teams.
- Excellent analytical, problem-solving, and project management skills.
- Strong communication, interpersonal, and presentation skills, with the ability to effectively collaborate with stakeholders at all levels.
- Experience with various manufacturing processes and equipment relevant to our industry.
- Familiarity with quality management systems (e.g., ISO 9001) and EHS regulations.
- Ability to manage multiple projects simultaneously and prioritize effectively in a remote setting.
