Our client, a leader in automotive innovation and technology, is seeking an experienced Senior Automotive Diagnostic Technician to join their fully remote technical support and development team. This unique opportunity allows you to leverage your expertise in diagnosing and troubleshooting complex vehicle issues from the comfort of your home, contributing to the advancement of automotive diagnostic software and hardware. You will be responsible for analyzing vehicle data, interpreting diagnostic trouble codes (DTCs), and providing expert-level support to field technicians and engineers. The ideal candidate possesses a deep understanding of modern vehicle electrical systems, engine management, and various automotive control modules. You will utilize advanced remote diagnostic tools and communication platforms to identify root causes of failures, suggest repair strategies, and contribute to product improvement initiatives. This role requires strong analytical skills, problem-solving abilities, and a passion for the automotive industry. As a fully remote position, excellent communication and self-management skills are essential.

Key responsibilities include:
  • Perform remote diagnosis of complex automotive issues using specialized software and data logging tools.
  • Analyze vehicle sensor data, communication bus traffic (e.g., CAN, LIN), and diagnostic trouble codes (DTCs) to identify system faults.
  • Interpret electrical schematics and wiring diagrams to trace and diagnose circuit issues.
  • Provide expert technical guidance and support to field service technicians via remote communication channels.
  • Collaborate with engineering teams to troubleshoot and resolve product defects and software anomalies.
  • Document diagnostic findings, repair procedures, and recommendations accurately.
  • Contribute to the development of diagnostic software updates and technical service bulletins.
  • Stay current with the latest automotive technologies, diagnostic tools, and industry best practices.
  • Research and analyze vehicle system failures to identify trends and potential areas for product improvement.
  • Maintain a high level of technical expertise across a wide range of automotive makes and models.
  • Participate in virtual team meetings and contribute to a collaborative remote work environment.
Qualifications: A High School Diploma or equivalent is required; an Associate's degree or vocational training in Automotive Technology is preferred. ASE Certifications (Advanced Engine Performance Specialist - L1, Master Automobile Technician - A1-A8) are highly desirable. Minimum of 7 years of hands-on experience as an Automotive Diagnostic Technician, with a strong focus on troubleshooting complex electrical and electronic systems. Proven ability to interpret vehicle data and diagnostic information. Proficient with OEM diagnostic software and scan tools. Familiarity with automotive communication protocols (CAN, LIN, Ethernet). Excellent problem-solving, analytical, and critical thinking skills. Strong written and verbal communication skills, with the ability to clearly explain technical concepts. Experience working remotely and utilizing collaboration tools is a significant advantage. This role offers the flexibility to work from Provo, Utah , or any other US location, allowing you to apply your diagnostic expertise remotely.
