Remote Lead Industrial Engineer - Process Optimization

Our client is seeking an experienced and innovative Lead Industrial Engineer to join their fully remote operations team. This critical role will focus on optimizing manufacturing and operational processes, enhancing efficiency, reducing costs, and improving overall productivity. You will be responsible for analyzing complex production systems, identifying bottlenecks, and developing data-driven solutions for process improvement. The ideal candidate will possess a strong background in lean manufacturing principles, Six Sigma methodologies, and advanced simulation techniques. Responsibilities:
  • Lead the design, implementation, and continuous improvement of industrial engineering processes across various operational sites.
  • Conduct in-depth analysis of existing workflows, production lines, and supply chain operations to identify areas for optimization.
  • Develop and apply lean manufacturing principles and tools (e.g., Value Stream Mapping, 5S, Kaizen) to streamline operations.
  • Utilize Six Sigma methodologies (DMAIC) to solve complex problems and reduce process variation.
  • Employ simulation software and modeling techniques to test and validate proposed process changes before implementation.
  • Develop and maintain process documentation, standard operating procedures (SOPs), and training materials.
  • Collaborate with cross-functional teams, including operations, quality, and management, to implement process improvements.
  • Analyze key performance indicators (KPIs) related to efficiency, throughput, quality, and cost, and report on findings.
  • Mentor and guide junior industrial engineers, fostering a culture of continuous improvement.
  • Stay current with the latest advancements in industrial engineering, automation, and operational excellence.
Qualifications:
  • Master's degree in Industrial Engineering, Mechanical Engineering, or a related technical field.
  • A minimum of 10 years of progressive experience in industrial engineering, with a significant focus on process optimization and operations management.
  • Proven experience leading complex process improvement projects from conception to completion.
  • Expertise in lean manufacturing principles and Six Sigma methodologies (Green Belt or Black Belt certification highly preferred).
  • Proficiency in industrial engineering software, including simulation tools (e.g., Arena, AnyLogic) and CAD software.
  • Strong analytical, problem-solving, and critical thinking skills.
  • Excellent communication, presentation, and interpersonal skills, with the ability to influence stakeholders at all levels.
  • Demonstrated ability to work independently and manage multiple projects effectively in a remote environment.
  • Experience in developing and implementing operational standards and best practices.
  • Knowledge of supply chain logistics and inventory management principles.
