Remote Industrial Engineering Lead - Process Optimization

Job Description

Our client is seeking an experienced and forward-thinking Industrial Engineering Lead to drive process optimization and efficiency improvements across their operations. This is a fully remote position, offering the flexibility to lead a team and implement strategic initiatives from anywhere. You will be responsible for analyzing existing manufacturing and operational processes, identifying areas for enhancement, and implementing solutions that increase productivity, reduce waste, and improve quality. The ideal candidate possesses a strong background in industrial engineering methodologies, lean manufacturing principles, and has proven leadership experience. You will collaborate with various departments to ensure seamless integration of process improvements.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Lead the design and implementation of industrial engineering projects focused on process improvement, efficiency, and cost reduction.
  • Analyze manufacturing and operational workflows to identify bottlenecks and inefficiencies.
  • Develop and implement lean manufacturing principles and methodologies (e.g., Six Sigma, Kaizen).
  • Design optimal facility layouts, material flow, and workstations.
  • Develop and maintain standard operating procedures (SOPs) and work instructions.
  • Utilize data analysis and simulation tools to model and predict process performance.
  • Train and mentor junior industrial engineers and operational staff on process improvement techniques.
  • Collaborate with cross-functional teams, including operations, quality, and R&D, to achieve strategic objectives.
  • Manage project timelines, budgets, and resources effectively.
  • Stay current with emerging trends and technologies in industrial engineering and operations management.
Qualifications:
  • Master's degree in Industrial Engineering, Operations Research, or a related field.
  • Minimum of 10 years of experience in industrial engineering, with a significant portion in process optimization and project leadership.
  • Proven experience in applying lean manufacturing and Six Sigma methodologies.
  • Strong analytical, problem-solving, and quantitative modeling skills.
  • Proficiency in simulation software (e.g., Arena, AnyLogic) and statistical analysis tools.
  • Excellent leadership, communication, and interpersonal skills.
  • Ability to manage complex projects and lead remote teams effectively.
  • Experience in manufacturing or operations environments is essential.
  • Professional Engineer (PE) or Certified Six Sigma Black Belt certification is highly desirable.
