Remote Senior Manufacturing Process Engineer

Job Description

Our client, a global leader in advanced manufacturing, is seeking a highly motivated and experienced Senior Manufacturing Process Engineer to join their fully remote team. This role is integral to enhancing and optimizing our production processes across various global sites. You will leverage your deep expertise in manufacturing technologies, lean methodologies, and process improvement to drive efficiency, quality, and cost-effectiveness without the need for physical presence in a specific office. The ideal candidate is a self-starter, capable of working autonomously and collaborating effectively with international teams in a virtual environment. Responsibilities include:
  • Analyze existing manufacturing processes to identify areas for improvement in efficiency, quality, and cost reduction, utilizing data and remote observation tools.
  • Develop, implement, and validate new manufacturing processes and technologies, working closely with R&D, engineering, and operations teams across different time zones.
  • Design and optimize manufacturing layouts and workflows to maximize productivity and minimize waste, adhering to lean manufacturing principles.
  • Create detailed process documentation, including work instructions, SOPs, and PFDs/P&IDs where applicable, using collaborative digital platforms.
  • Troubleshoot complex manufacturing issues remotely, providing technical guidance and support to on-site teams.
  • Lead continuous improvement initiatives and projects using methodologies like Six Sigma, Kaizen, and DMAIC.
  • Evaluate and recommend new manufacturing equipment and automation solutions to enhance production capabilities.
  • Ensure all manufacturing processes comply with relevant quality standards (e.g., ISO 9001) and safety regulations.
  • Conduct remote process capability studies and statistical process control (SPC) analysis.
  • Collaborate with cross-functional teams, including quality assurance, supply chain, and product development, via virtual communication channels.
  • Stay abreast of emerging manufacturing technologies and best practices to drive innovation.
Qualifications:
  • Bachelor's degree in Manufacturing Engineering, Mechanical Engineering, Industrial Engineering, or a related field.
  • Minimum of 7 years of experience in manufacturing engineering, process optimization, and continuous improvement.
  • Proven expertise in lean manufacturing, Six Sigma, and other process improvement methodologies.
  • Strong understanding of various manufacturing processes, materials, and equipment.
  • Excellent analytical and problem-solving skills with a data-driven approach.
  • Proficiency in manufacturing simulation software and data analysis tools.
  • Exceptional remote collaboration and communication skills, with experience working in virtual teams.
  • Ability to work independently, manage multiple projects, and meet deadlines in a remote setting.
  • Familiarity with ERP/MES systems.
  • Experience in global manufacturing environments is a plus.
  • Strong technical writing and documentation skills.
