In this pivotal role, you will be instrumental in establishing and upholding ethical standards and robust governance frameworks for the development and deployment of artificial intelligence technologies. Key responsibilities include developing, implementing, and overseeing comprehensive AI ethics policies, guidelines, and best practices. You will conduct ethical risk assessments for new AI projects and existing systems, identifying potential biases, fairness concerns, privacy implications, and societal impacts. Collaborating closely with AI researchers, data scientists, product managers, and legal teams to integrate ethical considerations throughout the AI lifecycle is essential. You will design and manage governance processes for AI development, ensuring compliance with emerging regulations and industry standards. Developing and delivering training programs on AI ethics and responsible AI principles to internal teams will be a core function. Staying at the forefront of advancements in AI ethics research, policy, and regulation globally, and translating this knowledge into actionable strategies for the company, is critical. You will also be involved in external stakeholder engagement, representing the company's commitment to responsible AI. Investigating and addressing any reported ethical concerns related to AI systems will also fall under your purview.

The ideal candidate will possess a Master's or Ph.D. in a relevant field such as Computer Science, Ethics, Law, Philosophy, or Social Sciences, with a specialization in AI ethics or responsible technology. A minimum of 7 years of experience in AI ethics, technology policy, risk management, or a related field, with a focus on artificial intelligence, is required. Deep understanding of AI technologies, machine learning principles, and their ethical implications is essential. Proven experience in developing and implementing ethical frameworks, governance structures, or compliance programs is a must. Excellent analytical, critical thinking, and problem-solving skills are required. Strong communication and interpersonal skills are necessary to effectively engage with diverse technical and non-technical audiences. Familiarity with relevant regulatory landscapes (e.g., GDPR, proposed AI regulations) is highly desirable.
