Job Description

Our client is seeking an AI Ethics and Governance Specialist to join their pioneering team, working entirely remotely. In this vital role, you will be instrumental in shaping and implementing ethical guidelines and governance frameworks for the development and deployment of artificial intelligence technologies. You will work closely with AI researchers, engineers, legal teams, and policy makers to ensure our AI systems are developed and used responsibly, fairly, and transparently. This position requires a unique blend of technical understanding, ethical reasoning, and regulatory awareness.

Key responsibilities:
  • Developing and refining AI ethics policies, principles, and best practices.
  • Conducting ethical risk assessments for AI projects and products.
  • Ensuring AI systems comply with relevant data privacy and AI regulations.
  • Collaborating with cross-functional teams to integrate ethical considerations into the AI lifecycle.
  • Developing training materials and conducting workshops on AI ethics for employees.
  • Staying abreast of emerging AI ethics research, industry trends, and regulatory changes.
  • Advising on bias detection and mitigation strategies in AI algorithms.
  • Contributing to the development of internal AI governance structures.
  • Facilitating discussions and workshops on responsible AI.
  • Communicating complex ethical and governance concepts to diverse audiences.

Required qualifications include a Master's degree or PhD in a relevant field such as Computer Science, Philosophy, Law, or Public Policy with a specialization in AI ethics or a related area. A minimum of 5 years of experience in AI ethics, responsible AI, data governance, or a related field is essential. Demonstrated knowledge of AI technologies, machine learning concepts, and ethical frameworks is critical. Excellent analytical, communication, and interpersonal skills are necessary to navigate complex ethical dilemmas and engage with various stakeholders. Experience in developing and implementing governance frameworks is highly valued. This is a fully remote position, accessible from anywhere in the US.
