Our client is seeking skilled and reliable Field Installation Technicians to join their team, supporting installations primarily within the San Francisco, California, US metropolitan area, but with the flexibility of remote operational management. This role is crucial for ensuring the successful deployment and setup of our client's products or services at customer sites. - Perform on-site installations, maintenance, and repairs of company products/systems according to established procedures and schedules.
- Diagnose and resolve technical issues during installation and post-installation phases.
- Conduct pre-installation site surveys to assess requirements and potential challenges.
- Ensure all installations are completed safely, efficiently, and to high-quality standards.
- Provide clear and concise technical documentation and service reports.
- Educate customers on product usage, maintenance, and troubleshooting.
- Maintain an inventory of tools, equipment, and parts, ensuring they are in good working order.
- Adhere to all company safety policies and procedures.
- Communicate effectively with the remote support team and management regarding job status and issues.
- Manage time and schedule effectively to meet installation targets and customer needs.
- Handle customer inquiries and concerns professionally and courteously.
- Participate in ongoing training to stay updated on product knowledge and technical skills.
- Troubleshoot network connectivity and hardware issues as they relate to the installation.
- Verify system functionality post-installation to ensure complete customer satisfaction.
Qualifications:
- High school diploma or equivalent; technical degree or relevant certifications are a strong asset.
- Proven experience in field installation, technical support, or a related hands-on role.
- Strong mechanical and electrical aptitude.
- Proficiency in using hand and power tools, and diagnostic equipment.
- Excellent problem-solving and troubleshooting abilities.
- Strong customer service and communication skills.
- Ability to work independently with minimal supervision and manage travel effectively.
- Valid driver's license and a clean driving record.
- Ability to lift and carry heavy equipment as needed.
- Familiarity with low-voltage wiring, network setup, or specific product lines is advantageous.
- Comfortable working in various environments and under different weather conditions.
- Must be able to manage remote communication and reporting effectively.
