Our client, a leading organization in the clean energy sector, is seeking a highly motivated and analytical Senior Energy Systems Analyst to join their distributed, remote-first team. This role is critical for developing innovative solutions and strategies that address complex energy challenges. The ideal candidate will possess a strong quantitative background, expertise in energy modeling, and a passion for sustainability. You will be instrumental in evaluating energy infrastructure, forecasting market trends, and advising on policy and technological advancements from the comfort of your home office.

- Conduct in-depth analysis of energy systems, including generation, transmission, distribution, and consumption patterns.
- Develop and utilize sophisticated energy modeling tools and software to simulate system performance and predict future scenarios.
- Evaluate the economic, environmental, and technical feasibility of various energy projects and technologies (e.g., renewables, storage, grid modernization).
- Analyze energy market dynamics, regulatory landscapes, and policy implications impacting the energy sector.
- Prepare comprehensive technical reports, presentations, and recommendations for internal stakeholders, clients, and policymakers.
- Collaborate with cross-functional teams, including engineers, economists, and policy experts, to integrate diverse perspectives into analytical frameworks.
- Identify opportunities for system optimization, efficiency improvements, and decarbonization strategies.
- Stay current with emerging trends, research, and best practices in the global energy industry.
- Mentor junior analysts and contribute to the development of analytical methodologies and best practices.
- Communicate complex analytical findings clearly and concisely to both technical and non-technical audiences.
- Master's degree or Ph.D. in Engineering (e.g., Electrical, Mechanical, Energy), Economics, Operations Research, or a related quantitative field.
- A minimum of 6 years of professional experience in energy systems analysis, modeling, or consulting.
- Demonstrated expertise in energy system modeling software (e.g., PLEXOS, EnergyPlus, System Advisor Model) and data analysis tools (e.g., Python, R, MATLAB).
- Strong understanding of power systems, renewable energy technologies, energy markets, and environmental policy.
- Proven ability to conduct rigorous quantitative analysis and interpret complex datasets.
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills, with a strong emphasis on technical report writing and presentation.
- Experience working independently and collaborating effectively in a remote team environment.
- Ability to manage multiple projects simultaneously and meet deadlines.
- Experience with lifecycle assessment and techno-economic analysis is a plus.
