Our client is seeking a highly skilled and motivated Industrial Automation Specialist to join their dynamic team. This is a fully remote position, offering flexibility and the opportunity to work from anywhere in the US. The ideal candidate will possess extensive experience in designing, implementing, and troubleshooting automated systems for manufacturing and industrial processes. You will be responsible for developing control logic, integrating various automation components (PLCs, HMIs, SCADA systems, robotics), and optimizing system performance to enhance efficiency, safety, and productivity. This role requires a deep understanding of industrial networking protocols, cybersecurity best practices for OT environments, and data acquisition strategies. You will work closely with clients to understand their unique operational challenges and provide tailored automation solutions. This includes developing detailed project specifications, creating schematics and documentation, and conducting remote diagnostics and support. The successful applicant will have a proven ability to manage multiple projects simultaneously, communicate effectively with technical and non-technical stakeholders, and stay current with the latest advancements in automation technology. A strong foundation in electrical engineering, computer science, or a related field, coupled with hands-on experience, is essential. - Design and develop automation solutions for industrial processes using PLCs, HMIs, and SCADA systems.
- Program and configure various automation hardware and software platforms.
- Integrate robotics and other automated machinery into existing production lines.
- Troubleshoot and resolve complex automation system issues remotely.
- Develop and maintain system documentation, including electrical schematics and logic diagrams.
- Implement and enforce cybersecurity measures for operational technology (OT) systems.
- Optimize system performance and efficiency through data analysis and process improvements.
- Provide remote technical support and training to clients.
- Collaborate with engineering teams to ensure seamless integration of automated solutions.
- Stay current with emerging automation technologies and best practices.
- Bachelor's degree in Electrical Engineering, Computer Engineering, Mechatronics, or a related field.
- Minimum of 5 years of experience in industrial automation, control systems engineering, or a similar role.
- Proficiency in PLC programming (e.g., Allen-Bradley, Siemens) and HMI/SCADA development.
- Experience with industrial robotics and motion control systems.
- Knowledge of industrial communication protocols (e.g., Ethernet/IP, Profibus, Modbus).
- Familiarity with cybersecurity principles in industrial environments.
- Excellent diagnostic and problem-solving skills.
- Strong written and verbal communication abilities.
- Ability to work independently and manage time effectively in a remote setting.
- Experience with CAD software for electrical schematics is a plus.
