Remote Senior Product Developer - Skincare

Our client, a rapidly growing leader in the beauty and wellness industry, is seeking a talented and experienced Senior Product Developer specializing in skincare to join their innovative, remote-first product development team. This fully remote position allows you to contribute your expertise from anywhere within the US. You will be responsible for the entire product development lifecycle, from ideation and formulation to stability testing and market launch. The ideal candidate has a deep passion for skincare, a keen understanding of cosmetic chemistry, and a proven ability to translate market trends into successful, high-quality products. You will work closely with marketing, regulatory, and manufacturing teams to bring groundbreaking skincare solutions to consumers.

Core Responsibilities:

• Lead the conceptualization and development of innovative skincare formulations, adhering to market trends and consumer needs.
• Conduct extensive research on raw materials, ingredients, and new technologies to enhance product efficacy and appeal.
• Collaborate with contract manufacturers to scale up formulations from lab bench to pilot and commercial production.
• Develop and execute stability, compatibility, and efficacy testing protocols in line with industry standards and regulatory requirements.
• Generate and maintain detailed formulation records, specifications, and associated documentation.
• Work closely with the Marketing and Sales teams to understand product briefs, target markets, and competitive landscapes.
• Ensure all product development activities comply with global cosmetic regulations (FDA, EU, etc.).
• Troubleshoot formulation challenges and provide technical solutions to ensure product quality and consistency.
• Evaluate and approve raw material submissions from suppliers.
• Present formulation concepts and development progress to cross-functional teams and senior management.
• Stay informed about the latest scientific advancements and ingredient innovations within the skincare industry.
• Contribute to the development of intellectual property and patentable formulations.

Essential Qualifications:

• Master's degree or Ph.D. in Cosmetic Science, Chemistry, Chemical Engineering, or a related scientific field.
• Minimum of 6 years of progressive experience in skincare product development within the beauty industry.
• Extensive knowledge of cosmetic ingredients, formulation techniques, and dermatological science.
• Proficiency in conducting stability testing, compatibility studies, and efficacy evaluations.
• Familiarity with global cosmetic regulatory requirements.
• Exceptional analytical, problem-solving, and project management skills.
• Excellent written and verbal communication skills, with the ability to articulate complex scientific concepts.
• Proven ability to work independently, manage multiple projects simultaneously, and meet deadlines in a remote setting.
• A strong portfolio of successfully launched skincare products is highly desirable.
