Job Description

Our client, a global leader in manufacturing, is seeking a highly accomplished Director of Procurement & Supply Chain Strategy to spearhead their procurement operations and strategic supply chain initiatives. This is a fully remote position, offering the flexibility to work from anywhere in the United States. You will be instrumental in developing and implementing innovative procurement strategies, optimizing the supply chain, managing supplier relationships, and driving significant cost savings and operational efficiencies.

Responsibilities:
  • Develop and execute a comprehensive procurement strategy aligned with the company's overall business objectives and growth targets.
  • Oversee all aspects of the procurement process, including sourcing, negotiation, contract management, and supplier relationship management.
  • Identify opportunities for cost reduction and efficiency improvements across the supply chain.
  • Lead the negotiation of complex contracts with key suppliers to secure favorable terms, pricing, and service levels.
  • Develop and implement robust supplier performance management programs to ensure quality, reliability, and compliance.
  • Build and maintain strong, collaborative relationships with internal stakeholders across various departments (e.g., Operations, Finance, R&D).
  • Stay abreast of market trends, new technologies, and best practices in procurement and supply chain management.
  • Lead and mentor a high-performing procurement and supply chain team.
  • Develop and manage the procurement budget, ensuring cost targets are met or exceeded.
  • Implement and leverage advanced procurement technologies and analytics tools.
  • Mitigate supply chain risks through diversification, contingency planning, and strategic sourcing.
  • Ensure compliance with all relevant legal, regulatory, and ethical standards.
  • Drive sustainability and corporate social responsibility initiatives within the supply chain.
Qualifications:
  • Master's degree in Supply Chain Management, Business Administration, Engineering, or a related field.
  • Minimum of 10 years of progressive experience in procurement, sourcing, and supply chain management, with at least 5 years in a leadership role.
  • Proven track record of developing and implementing successful procurement strategies that deliver significant cost savings and operational improvements.
  • Extensive experience in contract negotiation, supplier relationship management, and strategic sourcing.
  • Deep understanding of global supply chain dynamics, logistics, and risk management.
  • Strong analytical, financial acumen, and problem-solving skills.
  • Excellent leadership, communication, and interpersonal skills, with the ability to influence and collaborate effectively across all levels of the organization.
  • Proficiency with procurement software (e.g., SAP Ariba, Oracle Procurement Cloud) and ERP systems.
  • Experience in the manufacturing sector is highly preferred.
  • APICS or ISM certifications (e.g., CSCP, CPSM) are a strong asset.
  • Ability to work independently and manage multiple priorities in a remote environment.
