Lead Financial Accountant - Remote

Our client is seeking a highly motivated and experienced Lead Financial Accountant to join their dynamic, fully remote finance team. This is a key position responsible for overseeing various accounting functions, ensuring the accuracy and integrity of financial records, and supporting strategic decision-making. Responsibilities:

• Manage and oversee daily accounting operations, including accounts payable, accounts receivable, general ledger, and payroll.
• Prepare and review monthly, quarterly, and annual financial statements in accordance with GAAP.
• Analyze financial data, identify trends, and provide insights to management for business improvement.
• Ensure the accuracy and completeness of financial records and transactions.
• Lead the month-end and year-end closing processes.
• Develop, implement, and maintain internal controls to safeguard company assets.
• Assist with budgeting and forecasting activities.
• Coordinate and manage external audits.
• Stay current with accounting regulations and best practices.
• Identify opportunities for process improvements and automation within the accounting function.
• Supervise and mentor junior accounting staff.
• Reconcile bank statements and intercompany accounts.

Qualifications:

• Bachelor's degree in Accounting or Finance required; Master's degree or CPA certification is a strong plus.
• Minimum of 6-8 years of progressive accounting experience, with at least 2 years in a lead or supervisory role.
• In-depth knowledge of Generally Accepted Accounting Principles (GAAP).
• Proficiency in accounting software (e.g., QuickBooks, NetSuite, SAP) and advanced Excel skills.
• Experience with financial reporting and analysis.
• Strong understanding of internal controls and audit procedures.
• Excellent analytical, problem-solving, and organizational skills.
• Exceptional attention to detail and accuracy.
• Strong communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to collaborate effectively across departments in a remote setting.
• Demonstrated ability to manage multiple priorities and meet tight deadlines.
• Experience in implementing new accounting systems or processes is a plus.
