Remote Manufacturing Quality Control Manager

Job Description

Our client is looking for an experienced and detail-oriented Remote Manufacturing Quality Control Manager to ensure the highest standards of product quality and compliance. This is a fully remote position, allowing you to manage quality operations from your home office within the US. You will be responsible for developing, implementing, and maintaining robust quality management systems across all manufacturing processes. This includes establishing quality control procedures, conducting audits, analyzing quality data, and driving continuous improvement initiatives to reduce defects and enhance customer satisfaction. The ideal candidate will have a deep understanding of quality control methodologies (e.g., Six Sigma, Lean Manufacturing, ISO standards) and experience with statistical process control (SPC). You will work closely with production, engineering, and supply chain teams to ensure adherence to quality standards throughout the product lifecycle. Responsibilities include leading the quality team (virtually), developing training programs, investigating non-conformances, and implementing corrective and preventive actions (CAPA).   • Develop, implement, and manage comprehensive quality control systems and procedures for manufacturing operations.
  • Ensure compliance with relevant industry standards (e.g., ISO 9001) and regulatory requirements.
  • Establish and monitor key quality metrics (KPIs) and implement data-driven improvement initiatives.
  • Conduct internal audits and support external quality audits.
  • Lead the investigation of non-conformances, root cause analysis, and the implementation of corrective and preventive actions (CAPA).
  • Collaborate with production and engineering teams to define product specifications and quality standards.
  • Develop and deliver quality training programs for manufacturing personnel.
  • Manage the supplier quality program, including supplier audits and performance monitoring.
  • Oversee product testing and validation processes.
  • Promote a strong quality culture throughout the organization.
  • Manage and mentor a remote quality assurance team.
Required Qualifications:
  • Bachelor's degree in Engineering, Quality Management, or a related field. Master's degree preferred.
  • Minimum of 7 years of experience in quality control/assurance, with at least 3 years in a management role within manufacturing.
  • Proficiency in quality management systems (QMS) and standards (e.g., ISO 9001, AS9100).
  • Strong knowledge of Six Sigma, Lean Manufacturing, SPC, and other quality improvement methodologies.
  • Experience with root cause analysis tools and CAPA processes.
  • Excellent analytical, problem-solving, and decision-making skills.
  • Strong leadership and team management capabilities, especially in a remote setting.
  • Exceptional communication and interpersonal skills.
  • Experience with ERP and quality management software.
