Senior Remote Legal Counsel
Job Description
Our client, a rapidly expanding technology firm known for its innovative solutions and progressive work environment, is seeking a highly experienced and motivated Senior Remote Legal Counsel to join their fully remote legal department. This is a unique opportunity to provide comprehensive legal support across a wide range of corporate matters, with a strong focus on commercial contracts, intellectual property, and regulatory compliance. You will work autonomously and collaboratively with internal teams, advising on legal risks and strategic initiatives. This role requires a seasoned legal professional with exceptional analytical skills and a proven ability to manage complex legal issues in a dynamic, distributed setting.

- Draft, review, and negotiate a variety of commercial contracts, including SaaS agreements, vendor agreements, partnership agreements, and NDAs.
- Provide expert legal advice and counsel on intellectual property matters, including patent, trademark, copyright, and trade secret protection.
- Ensure compliance with all applicable federal, state, and international laws and regulations relevant to the technology sector.
- Assist in the development and implementation of corporate policies and procedures.
- Manage and resolve legal disputes and litigation, working with external counsel as necessary.
- Conduct legal research and provide analysis on evolving legal landscapes impacting the company's business.
- Support M&A activities, due diligence, and corporate governance matters as needed.
- Advise business teams on legal implications of new product development, marketing initiatives, and strategic partnerships.
- Develop and deliver legal training to internal stakeholders on relevant compliance topics.
- Maintain meticulous records of legal documents and correspondence.
- Proactively identify potential legal risks and propose mitigation strategies.
- Juris Doctor (JD) degree from an accredited law school.
- Admission to the bar and licensed to practice law in at least one US state.
- Minimum of 8 years of experience practicing law, with a significant portion focused on corporate law, commercial contracts, and intellectual property within a technology context. In-house experience is highly preferred.
- Proven experience in drafting and negotiating complex agreements.
- Strong understanding of data privacy regulations (e.g., GDPR, CCPA) and cybersecurity legal issues.
- Exceptional analytical, critical thinking, and problem-solving abilities.
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills, with the ability to convey complex legal concepts clearly and concisely.
- Demonstrated ability to work independently, manage multiple priorities, and meet deadlines in a remote work environment.
- High degree of professionalism, integrity, and ethical conduct.
- Experience with open-source software licensing is a plus.
- Proficiency in legal research databases and e-discovery platforms.
