Remote Senior Supply Chain Analyst - Demand Forecasting

Job Description

Our client is seeking a highly analytical and experienced Senior Supply Chain Analyst to join their fully remote team. This critical role will focus on optimizing demand forecasting processes and driving improvements across the entire supply chain. You will be responsible for developing sophisticated statistical models, analyzing market trends, and collaborating with sales, marketing, and operations to ensure accurate and reliable demand predictions. The ideal candidate possesses a strong quantitative background, exceptional data analysis skills, and a deep understanding of supply chain principles, particularly in the FMCG sector. You must be a self-starter, capable of managing complex projects independently in a remote setting, and possess excellent communication skills to effectively present findings and recommendations to stakeholders.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Develop, implement, and refine advanced statistical models for demand forecasting across multiple product lines and regions.
  • Analyze historical sales data, market trends, promotional impacts, and external factors to generate accurate demand forecasts.
  • Collaborate closely with sales, marketing, and product management teams to gather insights and assumptions for forecasting.
  • Work with operations and planning teams to ensure forecasts align with inventory and production capabilities.
  • Monitor forecast accuracy, identify root causes of deviations, and implement corrective actions.
  • Develop and maintain dashboards and reports to track key forecasting metrics and KPIs.
  • Identify opportunities for process improvements and automation within the forecasting and supply chain planning functions.
  • Conduct scenario planning and sensitivity analysis to assess the impact of different market conditions.
  • Support inventory planning by providing reliable demand forecasts to minimize stock-outs and reduce excess inventory.
  • Stay abreast of the latest advancements in forecasting methodologies, supply chain technologies, and industry best practices.
  • Communicate complex analytical findings and recommendations clearly to both technical and non-technical audiences.
  • Mentor junior analysts and contribute to the development of the supply chain planning team.

Qualifications:
  • Bachelor's degree in Supply Chain Management, Statistics, Mathematics, Economics, Operations Research, or a related quantitative field. Master's degree preferred.
  • Minimum of 6 years of experience in supply chain analysis, demand planning, or forecasting, preferably within the FMCG industry.
  • Proven expertise in statistical forecasting techniques (e.g., time series analysis, regression, ARIMA, exponential smoothing).
  • Proficiency with advanced data analysis and visualization tools (e.g., R, Python, SQL, Tableau, Power BI).
  • Experience with demand planning software (e.g., SAP APO, Oracle Demantra, Kinaxis).
  • Strong understanding of supply chain principles, inventory management, and sales and operations planning (S&OP).
  • Exceptional analytical, problem-solving, and critical thinking skills.
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills, with the ability to present complex data in a clear and concise manner.
  • Demonstrated ability to work independently and manage multiple priorities effectively in a fully remote environment.
  • High level of attention to detail and accuracy.
