Our client is seeking a highly creative and experienced Lead Game Audio Designer to spearhead audio development for their upcoming projects. This is a fully remote position, offering the opportunity to contribute your expertise from anywhere within the US. You will be responsible for defining and executing the audio vision, leading a team of audio designers, and ensuring the highest quality sound implementation across all games. This includes designing immersive soundscapes, impactful sound effects, engaging voice-overs, and dynamic musical scores. You will collaborate closely with game designers, programmers, and producers to integrate audio seamlessly into gameplay, enhancing player experience and narrative immersion. The ideal candidate possesses a deep understanding of audio principles, advanced proficiency with industry-standard DAWs (e.g., Pro Tools, Reaper), audio middleware (e.g., Wwise, FMOD), and game engines (e.g., Unreal Engine, Unity). Proven leadership experience, excellent communication skills, and a strong portfolio showcasing award-winning game audio work are essential. You will guide technical implementation, manage audio assets, and mentor junior team members. Responsibilities:
  • Lead and mentor a team of game audio designers, fostering a collaborative and creative environment.
  • Define and execute the overall audio direction and technical strategy for game projects.
  • Design, implement, and mix high-quality sound effects, music, dialogue, and ambient sounds.
  • Collaborate with game design and engineering teams to integrate audio into gameplay systems.
  • Manage the audio asset pipeline, ensuring efficient workflows and high-quality deliverables.
  • Develop and maintain audio budgets and schedules.
  • Provide technical guidance and support for audio middleware and game engines.
  • Conduct playtesting and iterative design based on feedback.
  • Stay current with cutting-edge audio technologies and industry best practices.
  • Ensure audio consistency and quality across all project assets.
Qualifications:
  • Bachelor's degree in Audio Engineering, Music Production, Game Design, or a related field, or equivalent professional experience.
  • 7+ years of experience in game audio design, with at least 2 years in a lead or senior role.
  • Proven track record of delivering high-quality audio for commercially released video games.
  • Expertise in industry-standard DAWs and audio middleware (Wwise, FMOD).
  • Proficiency with game engines like Unreal Engine or Unity.
  • Strong understanding of acoustics, audio engineering principles, and sound design techniques.
  • Excellent leadership, communication, and problem-solving skills.
  • Ability to manage multiple projects and meet deadlines in a remote setting.
  • Portfolio showcasing outstanding game audio work is required.
