Senior Remote Manufacturing Engineer

Job Description

Our client is seeking a highly skilled Senior Remote Manufacturing Engineer to contribute to optimizing production processes and improving efficiency across their manufacturing operations. This role is fully remote, requiring a seasoned professional with a strong background in manufacturing principles, process improvement, and a proven ability to drive results in a virtual setting. You will be instrumental in analyzing current manufacturing systems, identifying areas for enhancement, and implementing innovative solutions to boost productivity, reduce costs, and ensure quality. The ideal candidate possesses excellent analytical and problem-solving skills, coupled with a deep understanding of lean manufacturing and Six Sigma methodologies.

Responsibilities:
  • Analyze existing manufacturing processes to identify bottlenecks, inefficiencies, and areas for improvement.
  • Develop and implement strategies to optimize production workflows, reduce cycle times, and enhance throughput.
  • Design, test, and implement new manufacturing processes and equipment.
  • Apply lean manufacturing principles and Six Sigma methodologies to drive continuous improvement initiatives.
  • Develop and maintain process documentation, standard operating procedures (SOPs), and work instructions.
  • Collaborate with cross-functional teams, including production, quality assurance, and engineering, to implement process changes.
  • Conduct root cause analysis for production issues and implement corrective and preventive actions.
  • Evaluate and recommend new technologies and equipment to improve manufacturing capabilities.
  • Support the development and implementation of automation solutions.
  • Ensure compliance with safety regulations and quality standards.
  • Mentor junior engineers and provide technical guidance.
  • Track key performance indicators (KPIs) related to manufacturing efficiency, cost, and quality.

Qualifications:
  • Bachelor's degree in Manufacturing Engineering, Mechanical Engineering, Industrial Engineering, or a related field.
  • Minimum of 5 years of experience in manufacturing engineering, with a focus on process optimization and improvement.
  • Proven experience applying lean manufacturing principles and Six Sigma methodologies (Green Belt or Black Belt certification is a plus).
  • Strong understanding of production processes, equipment, and automation technologies.
  • Excellent analytical, problem-solving, and critical-thinking skills.
  • Proficiency with CAD software and simulation tools is advantageous.
  • Ability to work independently, manage projects effectively, and communicate clearly in a remote environment.
  • Strong technical writing and documentation skills.
  • Experience in quality control and assurance within a manufacturing setting.
  • Familiarity with ERP systems and manufacturing execution systems (MES).
